When did the fantasy animals have to become realistic? I mean I LOVE the fluffier redraw, but the idea that the female should look just like the male is beyond me. Even in the wild there are significant differences in size, or coloring, or features. Take the alligator for example. The female grows to 7ft. the male grows up to 13 ft. In most birds the male is more brightly colored while the female is drab. In geckos females will always have a less stubby and more "triangled" and slimmer snout. In many species of spider, the female is larger than the male and more aggressive. BUT, this is not a reality game. THIS is a fantasy game from Krin and Fai's wonderfully creative minds. I love the females being more feminine!

Nixis are one of my favorites, my starter is a male Nixi. I adore the redraws! I realize there is no way to make everyone happy, but I prefer the head and expression on the first male redraw. To me, on the 2nd redraw, the muzzle is a little too refined and looks out of proportion to the rest of the head. And the loss of the smile - oh no! I realize the smile is different from the original Nixi but it gives him so much more expression and character! I really loved that!

Im not sure how I feel about the changes, but the new edits definatly look better than the older edit. I love that its more realistic, but slightly worried and very curious how my Zolnixi hordes will look like :D
Cant wait to see the changes though :)

I absolutely LOVE the updated lineart, male smirk included.

Just wanted to include a point directly to Fai to say that I completely agree with you on the female/male lineart situation. There is no need to make cartoon pets "gender neutral". This is a pet site, we're not talking about gender stereotypes and other real world issues. The female pets are just as worthy in battle and can do everything male pets can do. The only difference is that they appear more dainty and feminine and are easy to tell apart from the male. I have a nostalgia and appreciation for the way the male/females are drawn when thinking to how male/female is portrayed in fantasy and old Disney for example. I believe that Faiona's vision of the sexual differences adds to the magic of the site and I would hate to see it change. The artists are not drawing accurate representations of foxes. They are drawing Zolnixies. It is nice to have "pretty" pets and "fierce" pets, but it is also nice to make the "pretty" pets fierce in battle, which is more than possible on the site. The poses are nothing but aesthetic and I think they are very pleasant.

I would also add though that I agree the Morkko is TOO different, but then it is well known that the Morkko needs a redraw so putting effort into nitpicking it seems silly. The way redraws are being handled I'm sure as and when the Morkko's time comes the lady will be lovely, and so will the male.

Just wanted to add my 2c that I'd hate to see the differences stripped away due to real life influences on a fantasy site :)

More fluffiness is always a plus :P I think the slender snout on the male makes him look more fox-like, so I think the changes are good.

Edit: Wow, just read Lavelle's comment above me and I agree with her. I have to wonder- who even comes to this fantasy game site and brings real-world problems? As if they're trying to find a problem with everything. The poses are fine, they don't say anything about what Lavelle mentioned. Keep doing what you're doing and ignore those few.

I really, really love the revamp, but I kinda feel like the male's snout is a little too slim...when you look at how thick the snout is when its a hatchling, it just looks a bit odd. Especially when you compare it to the female's snout, which looks a lot thicker. I know it's a bit more fox-like, but it kinda looks unnatural...maybe if it was just a titch thicker?

Other than that I love everything else~!

I like the older male better. He looked sly with that smirk on his face, like he knew something we didn't. It gave him some major personality. Now he just looks...ordinary. He looks bored, like a guy on a shopping trip with his girl, praying it will end already. lol Ah well, can't please everyone and they're still awesome. I'm not complaining. As a whole, they're great.
