Really like the edited versions! The female's front leg looks like it attaches properly now and I love the slight change to her fins on the sides of her tail. Having all of the fins transparent looks really nice. I'm still not a fan of the wings, especially on the female, but I suspect that they will grow on me with time. I'm sure they will also look even better once shaded.
The babies look much more like they might actually be able to grow up to look like the awesome adults, but still have that cutiesiness that so many love. :-)

The hatchlings look so much better!! Still cute, as all babies should be, but the 'human' aspect is completely gone with the new muzzles. And no more thick black eyebrows! :D
It's very interesting to see the transparency in the wings now; it really shows off the complexity of the many layers and it looks incredible! The difference is remarkable!
I think the only major thing that still strikes me as 'off' would be the adult female's mouth; it still seems... cat-like with the u-shape. I do love the new fin placement, though. ^^

The transparent fins are perfect! I was a little worried about them blocking any genes but I think you guys definitely hit it home on this one!! ^ ^

Now that I see how transparent the wings and fins are, my concern about the wings blocking the body would be fine since they are pretty see through.
And the babies don't look human at all now, which is good! (And they also look pretty darn adorable).
I think it's really cool that so many people are so engaged with this.
I'm not sure where I stand in the wings/no wings/wings-are-a-mutation camps. I think translucent wings will probably work out just fine as "standard" on the Kelpari. Also, I wonder if making these new version wings into a Mutation would cause all Kelparies without that particular Mutation to look a bit...naked.
Don't think I can agree with those who see the new adults as too cute. They still seem impressive and majestic to me, plus the female looks like a total troublemaker! (That's a complement.)
Wonder how Splash Wings will look with the new design?
Re various comments about the adult female's proportions, particularly the head, and whether or not she needs a bit more muscle: Perhaps if her head were just a tad smaller? Just a bit, giving her somewhat of an Arabian horse appearance. What do folks think of that possibility?
(Now that I look more closely at the male and female together, she looks like she's planning some kind of prank to play on him.)
Agreed about the proportions, I realised the main reason why the female look so skinny to me is because her head look too big compared to her neck. To me, it made the female look like a teenager compared to the male kelp which looks fully grown.
I shrunk her head on the left, right is the original image for comparison:
Or when adding a bit more volume at the back of the neck in the left image:
Regardless, I find the kelps are much better than the original, and I especially adore the male because of how regal he looks!

I absolutely love the transparent fins and the overall looks... a great tweak while still faithful to the original design, which I really like.
There's really only one thing that bothers me, especially on the male. The overall look is very sleek and more fish like, but the feet, especially on the male, seem to have fur. It just doesn't fit the rest of it to me. Especially with those beautiful transparent fins. It's the only indication of fur anywhere on the animal, and honestly doesn't seem to me to work for a critter that lives mostly in the water. The mane is all elemental like the old style, which is good, but there is no fur or hair there either, so hairy feet just seem to me to clash with the rest of the look.
