One of the women grabbed Diana by the tail and hauled her out of the trash can, Diana screeching loudly as she tried to wriggle out of her grasp.
"My brethren!" You hear a young girl voice yell, and the ladies all suddenly stop, shuffling to the side to make a path, revealing a young lady, dressed in tatters like they did. She didn't walk towards you down the path like the cliche stuff in the movies, but instead, she stood at the end of her side as the women surrounding you muttered in between themselves. "What do we have here, ey?" The girl snarled. She was shorter than you, but her expression was still fierce. "Another one?"

April winced away, backing up. She felt herself cowering away, she glanced at Diana. She felt a burst of anger but contained it, tears still pricking at the side of her eyes. She was afraid, confused. April wished something would be explained. She almost let out a whimper, but held on, crossing one arm along her chest upwards for defence.

(If I'd had known Beast Tamer would be so popular. But I guess Hericon was, so.. gosh. if I didn't want Diana so much i'd ask to change x-x)

The door opens into a large chamber/room. It was the cross between a throne room and a meeting room, with one huge white stone table occupying the middle of it, and at one end of the table it was raised, and there was a throne. The room you were now in was much brighter than the one you woke up in and the black marble hallway, blinding you momentarily and causing Art to peep and burry her head into your hair. The white eventually fades from your eyes and you find that apart from you, there were many others in the room, in small groups, conversing with each other in hushed tones. Now that your eyes were clear, you discover that on the throne at the raised end of the table, someone lounged there, and they seemed to be watching you.

I stroke Arts feathers and look around, seeing the throne, table, and smooth walls and floor, until my eyes finally look straight at the person lounging on the throne. Hello, I say, I assume you must be the Lord. Am I correct?

The contents of the bag clinked as they fell out, pooling into a pile on the bed beside Cheshire. They were coins! Among them, there were five golds, ten silvers, and a hundred coppers, as you counted them. There was also a small note, and in the near-pitch-darkness, you could make out some words.
How much time do you plan to waste? The Lord is waiting.

I narrow my eyes and quickly pack up the bag again, calling to Cheshire. "Come on Cheshy we have to go," I whisper, nudging her gently. Once the cat wakes up I open the door and look around.

You have the feeling that you shouldn't have called the person from earlier a dumb stupid idiotic fool, and dread sets upon you. The merchant raised an eyebrow. "You're not from around here, are you? This is a serious place, and the governors do not permit carefree and sassy attitudes like yours. I don't deal with doctors, you'll have to find one on your own. As for what I sell," he sweeps a hand, showing off the contents of the cart. There were all sorts of meat, chicken, beef, veal, pork, mutton, you name it, all done in different styles. Braised, fried, skewered, they were all there. He also sold rice and noodles, and on the side there was any vegetable imaginable. Not to mention, he obviously sold drinks, but the only drinks he sold were a transparent liquid that looked like water, a weird purple coloured soda that resembled grape pop, and an orange liquid, that was the same colour as orange juice.

"Oh, sorry...I just...appeared here after speaking to a random person. How much is a serving of noodles?" I asked, trying my best to be polite. People here are weird. I don't like this place. I turned around to check if Dora is following me.

"Am I the Lord? Possibly. You were placed here, boy. Get ready, because the end is near." He pointed a hand at you. "Train hard, and shoot for the moon. All shadows will meet the light there, so be ready. Now go." He waved his hand, and you find yourself suddenly in a crowded marketplace, with people walking around as a friendly air of conversation hung in the air. There were merchants selling food, clothes, jewlery, weapons, metalwork, glasswork, books, herbs, basically anything anyone could think of.

The door did not budge. Because, of course, it was a really heavy door, and it had no handle. As you pressed up against the door to push it and looked sideways, you found that on the right of the door, a stone protruded out of the wall unlike the other stones.

The women behind you boxed you in, not allowing you to back up anymore. The girl advanced towards you, a sneer on her face as she drew something sharp and shiny from within the folds of her tattered clothes. She stopped by the woman who was holding Diana hostage. "Hand the raccoon over." She ordered, and the woman yelped in fear, and threw Diana at the girl, who caught her tail using one hand and with her other hand, pointed her sharp object which now resembled a broken knife, at you. "We know the likes of you are rich ones." She continued in a snarl, moving towards you, but now slower. "Selfish, arrogant, rich people!"

"I am... possibly the Lord, or I might not be them." He stated, one hand stroking the armrest of the throne and the other hand playing with something shiny that looked like a dagger. "Speak with more respect, Phoenix. Your survival here partially depends on me. Do you have any questions you'd like to ask?"

Cheshire blinked an eye open and glared at you before hopping onto your shoulder and flopping down, falling sleep again. You try to open the very heavy mahogany door but fail, because, one, there is no doorknob, and two, because it is too heavy for you to push or pull open.

Dora had vanished, because, well, she's a dog. The merchant looked at you weirdly, then shook his head. "One serving of noodles is... 2 silvers and 50 coppers, and that's just noodles. For toppings, it'll be 15 coppers for each topping."
