Okay so I was thinking... things that make my head hurt.

What if this world is a simulation? What if everyone you think you know are all... NPCs (for lack of a better word)? Like, you control yourself, see things through your eyes, right? (Or at least, you think so, but that's a topic for another day.)

But what if you're the only person who does? Like Minecraft, I guess, like how chunks only load as you go there (that's how it works, right?). What if it's like that in 'real life', where people and life don't go on when you don't actually see it? What if everyone you think you know doesn't have a life other than what you see?

You see your friend go into their house, but how do you know that once they go inside, they're actually doing something? Like in a video game, it might show an NPC 'go into their house to get something' but all it's really doing is showing them go to their house and vanishing. They're not actually getting something inside their house.

And there's a saying or something that's something like 'take a walk in the other person's shoes' or whatever, meaning try to think from their point of view. But, what if you can't? What if you're the only person who functions like you think you're functioning, thinking and making decisions? What if everyone else is, like a mindless robot or something in an advanced simulation, and when you die, you wake up? But again, that's a topic for another time. But the thing is, you can't really prove it true or not.

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this, even if it is a pretty stupid theory, and I explained it terribly. That is, if you actually have thoughts and are not a mindless robot :D

(Also, Alpha, where'd you get the awesome phoenix thingy? You joined Sylestia two days after me xD)

Actualy, I've been thinking on that a bit lately

But I try not to because then I think of the incredibly low score I'd get XD
But the big question if though, is there a continue option for a game-over? ',:/

Well, there have been reports of kids remembering their 'past lives ', haven't there?
I think yes.

*continue*
But if they're just NPCs, let's say they're a diversion the game throws at you
Now what?
Is there a way to prove or disprove the Continue option theory?

... By dying?
Or maybe this is a multiplayer game, and some people are not NPCs.

Well no see that's just it, by dying you either do or don't get to the death screen, if you do get there and hit continue you could come back as a completely different person, if you don't that disproves it, but no one knows because no one has come back from the dead and kids could just be hallucinating. It's an either or situation.

In that case you can prove it to be true or not to yourself, but no one else. Which is why it would still be debatable if you died.

Also on that note, if you died, your player would remember and you wouldn't if you came back as a new person, further both proving and disproving the theory. Kids who remember past lives could.be a glitch, or just imagining, or programmed to act like that, like how Sans remembers resets, durring his boss fight, and not very accurately. It's fun to think about :>

Homestuck.

Also, Henry Cavendish measured the weight of the Earth in 1798 and was off by a mere 1% of what the current figure is.
