(Hm, hadn't thought of that ability. Yeah, probly could actually, but it's up to you to decide what you think your character should do in the situations I fling at 'em)
East isn't exactly easy to determine in the featureless landscape that surrounds you. However, the moon and the stars can be used to guide your way adequately enough.
You haven't been travelling for too long, shivering in the cold, when you climb atop a snowy rise in the grasslands. From there you are able to see a small glow in the distance. It looks like it could be fire, but from here you can't tell anything more.

Crimson and Emberpaw cast their noses to the air and to the ground respectively, moving slightly in different directions but not too far from you.
"I can just smell something... old, on the wind," Crimson shrugs, her ears flopping to the side. "Without much practice at this, we can't say much more."
Sunfeather and Blazetalon take flight, shrinking into orange and red specks in the sky as they circle the manor where they can still be seen. Sunfeather returns briefly. Nothing suspicious to report as of yet, but it seems they'll stay in the skies for now and sound the alarm should anything happen.
Shootingstar nods, tucking his wings into his sides and casting his gaze around himself.
From here, it appears there is only one entrance to the mansion. Old, cracked double-doors at the top of a short flight of weathered steps. Almost all of the windows are boarded up or shuttered. There is a wide-open, gravelled clearing on all sides of the building except its back, where it is built against an outcropping of stone.
The only traps you can see would be the crumbled stairs and questionable integrity of the house's timbers, which audibly creak as a soft gust of wind passes by the hillside.

(That's perfectly alright. An interesting character backstory is always the best method of pursuasion :P
Would you like me to change Meriah's temperament to Good/Adaptive? It is currently Good.
Thank you verily for the detailed synopsis. With your quest, it's definitely important for me to keep track of how many days have passed.
I'd like that, if you wouldn't mind. If you've saved the whole conversation it would be good for me to have a look over it, since I've most certainly forgotten important plot-things)
In Chillsky, every adventurer is going to need supplies, and Thatchburg certainly has enough merchants to find most of what you need.

At least something he learned as a kid paid off.
He heads for it, whats the worst that can happen? Wouldnt be the first time hes played an act. And if not....well hes already pretty lost.

"Alright then," Asteria responds, "stay here please while I go knock on the door. Anything happens hide quickly." She carefully walks towards the door keeping a sharp eye out for anything out of the ordinary or potentially dangerous. Asteria wonders offhandedly if this was a mistake.
"The aeiries wouldn't be famed throughout Anaia if they didn't give you a good night's rest, after all," Brazentalons nods as he speaks, following you to the closest library.
The streets you pass through on your search are decorated heavily for Chillfest. There isn't a direction you can pick without being able to see colourful banners, a group of carol singers going door to door or bright tapestries hung between buildings over the cobbled streets of the elven capital.
There are many libraries in Elvenor, and the name inscribed on the sign above the doorway of the first library you find is 'The Scholar's Corner'. You can see many books piled on shelves through the dusty windows.
"Hopefully this one has the sort of books we're looking for," Brazentalons comments, shaking his fluffed up feathers in the frosty morning.
"Well, we're about to find out," I say and shoulder the door open. I keep a foot against the door to let Brazentalons in before looking for the librarian with a worried expression on my face. Hopefully they weren't as skittish about the rings as the dwarf. If I find the librarian, I ask if they have any books on the enchanted rings.

Temperament Change: Sure, as long as you keep good in there. Even if she's somewhat of a troublemaker she'd never do it to hurt people, usually the opposite.
I have the whole conversation from the game which I will send in a PM. Unfortunately I lost the PM's about any other backstory so I don't have that part.
In Chillsky, every adventurer is going to need supplies, and Thatchburg certainly has enough merchants to find most of what you need. What's your plan of action?
Considering she had no information and very limited supplies, spending a day or two in Thatchburg sounded quite appealing. A solid gold ring was likely worth something, and it shouldn't be too hard to find somewhere she could earn an additional coin or two. As much as she itched to get started on finding Theillar, the Chillsky winds were already harsh against her coat and she'd much prefer actual walls for tonight. Besides, tracking down that ring sounded fun...
She wandered through the town, eyes pealed for an inn that looked like they might trade some work for a room, or a shadier part of the city where she might be able to search for the thief. The ring should be valuable enough to grab a price on a black market and the thief might be tempted to sell. If not, she could always try asking questions.

(Question: Would you mind if I used Nicote's brother in a plot thing I'm planning for your storyline? You normally have full control over your character's backstory, so I wouldn't touch characters that are a part of that without asking first)
After some time trudging through the snow in the freezing wilderness, you get close enough to determine that someone has built a fire by a frozen stream. The someone becomes evident: a large figure huddles over the fire, head hung low between their broad shoulders. A couple of packs are piled around them and a thick blanket has been pulled across their shoulders.
You can't tell much more without approaching the person.

Well, you're about to find out. The building creaks ominously as you approach the large front doors, after managing to keep your footing as a stair crumbled when you stepped on it.
Again, nothing new makes itself apparent. The whole town was quiet, what with most of its inhabitants most likely out working in the mines of the foothills. But comparitively, the grounds of this manor still manage to seem dead.
Under your knuckles, the doors suddenly blow open with a gust of wind, the passageway beyond gaping darkly. A voice echoes from somewhere further along the hallway, sounding busy.
"Come in, come in!" a man's voice calls. "I've been waiting for you! Third door on the left, hurry now, please!"

Brazentalons trots in after you, scanning the crowded room alongside you.
The cold draft that follows the pair of you causes a frizzy-haired head to pop up from behind a messy counter just by the doorway. "Please, please, shut the door quickly!" she squeaks, flapping a hand at you. "It's taken all morning to get this place warmed up."
You ask her about books on enchanted rings. She frowns, tapping the end of a writing quill to her chin as she thinks. "Err... enchanted rings..? Well, we have a 'Ancient Magical and Powerful Items' shelf at the back," she points with the quill, "that might have what you're looking for. Other than that, can't think of anything of that description."
