(Nice, maybe I have a thing or two I can learn :)
Happy new year to you too ^.^)
"I'll wait outside," Numbat says, looking up into the sky where the two phoenix make lazy circles in the sky.
The shop is still open. A male dwarf is slumped over the counter, and a heartbeat passes before he lets out a loud snore, fast asleep.
Crimson bounds in, tangling up in your feet excitedly before staring at the dwarf at the counter. She giggles as he carries on snoring, then turns around to watch as you examine the bow.
(Well, not to be a disappointment~) You judge that the bow is of medium quality. Not amazingly great, but not the worst piece of work you've ever seen. Arrows come in quivers in groups of ten. The tips are made of locally mined flintswood metals. The craftsmanship is mediocre - you can see that the axes, hammers and other melee weapons in the shop have had more care put into their manufacture.

The guard accepts the pack, opening it as she raises an eyebrow. "Well, I've not been told to look out for some sort of cursed ring, so I won't judge you for the sort of stuff you like to collect."
After rifling about your stuff for a couple of seconds, she returns your pack to you. "You're clear. Sorry to trouble you ma'am, enjoy your day."
She waves to the two halberdiers, who raise their weapons so that they no longer block the way out.
The Adventurer's Road stretches on into the distance, heading west. Behind you both, there is a commotion. The next person in line is siezed by the guards, the woman from before holding something golden in one hand, the elf's open pack in the other.
"I've never seen that before in my life! Let me go!" the elf shouts. Whatever else he says is lost as he is escorted away.
Brazentalons looks troubled, looking around himself with narrowed eyes. "I was sure..." he breathes, then shakes his head.
"Steal anyone, they do, without care" the orc shrugs. "Find out soon enough if useful for bargaining. If not, southern arenas always needing new contestants." His gaze falls to his feet at that. After a minute, he looks up again. "You have friends? Won't for much longer, when they taken to Boulder. What you plan?"
"Got nothing to lose. Ill just have to go after them. Only fair, either that or i go back to playing tramp." Nicote shrugged.at this point he was honosltu pretty sure he would die young anywyas-hed become a criminal, he didnt use normal elf weapons, he managed to lose his familiar and was the family embarrassment next to his star-spangled brother.
Yup. Definitley had nothing to lose. On the bright side he could fix his hair again!

Asteria considers the bow and arrows before picking them up, "Crimson this is not a bow I would normally choose but right now I don't have many choices. Maybe eventually I'll find what I need to make my own bow." She grabs two quivers and the bow. Carefully Asteria tries to wake the dwarf up without scaring him, "Excuse me mister I'd like to make a purchase."

I look at Brazentalons then at the elf with concern. I didn't want to delay my travels as snow would be falling soon, but if Brazentalons was troubled about it then so was I. "Sure about what?" I ask him and tried to go back and see what was going to happen to the elf.

Do you wish to apply black hair dye? This will consume x1 Jar of Hair Dye
Well, adventuring can turn many outcasts into heroes of their people. Or just give them more of an infamous reputation... depending on where your Path takes you, Anaia has many oppertunities whether good or bad.
The orc lets out a hearty laugh. "That is spirit. As someone who is in exactly same situation, I help. One way I can start making up for my sins. What else we have to do, huh?"
He looks around the disaster area, his humour diminishing. "So, uh... how we find where they gone?"
If you're going to have any hope of finding your friends, you're going to have to find out the direction the kidnapper clan has set off in.

Crimson looks up at you with wide eyes, nodding. "I could help you look sometime!" she says excitedly.
You try to carefully wake the dwarf up - charisma failed
The dwarf jumps, startled. "Woah - oh, uh, 'ello! Pardon me, miss," he grins sheepishly. He gets his bearings for a second and then blinks blearily at the items you wish to purchase, taking them from you and eying them over for an awkward minute. "Okay. That's 10G for the bow, 5G for each quiver of arrows."

"No, I was just sure that there was a third person in line, someone else behind that elf while our pack was getting searched," noticing you start to move, he holds up a wing for you to stop. "Please, it's probably nothing. We've got a long journey ahead of us without getting caught up with the Elvenor guards."
There certainly isn't anyone else at the gate besides the two of you and a few guards now. Brazentalons opens his wings. "Shall we head off, then?"

"Sorry sir I didn't mean to startle you," Asteria apologizes, "Can we do eight for the bow and four for each quiver of arrows please?"

I look in the direction of where the elf had been hauled off for a second longer before turning back to Brazentalons. "If you say so..." I climb onto his back. "Let's go."
