Whenever I think of Fall (putting aside Thanksgiving and falling leaves), I become really excited for Halloween. Dressing up in weird monster costumes and other apperal was the best thing since Christmass. Luckily The Nightmare Before Christmas has both holidays. Jack was the King of Halloween and all that was bone chilling; terrifying children even past the holiday once he discovered something new after Halloween. TNBC is still my most favorite of Tim Burton's films.

my ryori is based on a Mexican marigold, also known as cempaschil. this flower is commonly found in cemeteries and has been used in the celebration of Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead for centuries. Day of the Dead is celebrated every year on November 2nd. on this day, people place these flowers on the graves of the loved ones they've lost, believing that it would attract their souls to the offerings left for them.

The inspiration here is the pagan festival of Mabon, which is probably what I would name it if I won. She has blue accents to contrast with the warmth of the orange, symbolizing the "winding down" and peace of the post-harvest season, and the white breaking through her magma trait to show the coming of winter. The horns hearken to the stag, who is a very important symbol in many pagan and wiccan traditions. The petals are an homage to the transition plant life (and animal life) makes during this time to prepare for winter.

Harvest Moon Ryori

This Ryori is based off the orange-yellow Harvest Moon that often appears in early fall.

I made this thinking of how fall looks where I live. Most of the time our leaves barely change color, they just turn brown and die. I'm focusing on the small amount of time and the rare times the do change color. I have some woods in my backyard that I thought about while making this. I kept the green because of the evergreens we have in the backyard and the contrast they have against the dying red, orange, and brown leaves.

sins i can not find i can't do this here is my MC Ryori
it is a Melted Chocolate Ryori withs was the hand full of candy Ryori we got last year.
and i just love how those new traits look on them. (and i will do my best on geting these traits into the MC Ryori line)
