Back story: His father was not very dedicated and left as soon as Catpin came along. Catpin is a little uneasy about taking any relationship much farther than just girlfriend/boyfriend because he's not sure how to be a husband or a father. He usually just doesn't thinnk about it because he figures a position like that would be years away.
