The atmosphere is changing rapidly. Deadly looking berries grew from thorny bushes that glowed black. Random fires spewed from cracks in the earth. Scary-looking skeleton/zombie ghosts float around. "Don't let the Xarr see you. They're very dangerous." He is probably referring to the ghost thingies.

The Xarr never seemed to float away from where they currently hovered. It seemed like they were guarding something.

To your surprise, the weird looking nuts are edible, and extremely yummy. You collect a handful.

There is nothing interesting to see. However, the path looks well travelled, and in one direction: north east.
