I hum along under my breath, acutely aware I have very little musical talent.

I sigh. Wondering about the murder, i walk into the forest until Veslon is out of sight. Then i sit down to think.

Marking in the dirt, i write down what i know.

1. There was a murder in Veslon.
2. It was a hybrid.
3. The elderly peacock hybrid knows about he murder, but won't leave.
4. He wanted/made me leave.

The only fact i had written down that i felt unsure about was it was a hybrid, for a few reasons.

1. People think they are superior to hybrids, so a murderer would most likely have no problem using one as a scapegoat.
2. I haven't seen any proof.

However the second reason is not very solid. Also, as i think about it, i realize i don't know for certain anyone has died either, for the same reason of no proof. However i think it's safe to assume someone did.

Some clues:

1. The peacock is cloaked and quiet.
2. He refused to tell me much of anything.
3. He wanted me to leave.
4. He nodded to the guards.

I feel a bit guilty, but i write down my suspect list in the dirt, even though i know I've only seen a few people and talked to only 1.

Suspect(s):

1. The peacock

He is acting far too suspicious. I have a deep feeling it couldn't be him, but i also assume that might just be my sense of fairness. The fact that he nodded the guards could mean something or nothing.
I can't take any chances, so i decide to be extra cautious around him until i know more.

I also have a deep feeling my stubbornness and curiosity are going to get me killed, if not imprisoned.


I think i should learn to fight before i get into this too much. But i can't help but feel the need to get involved. I facepalm. Loyalty to someone I've never met. I really have a problem.

Since i have some skill with a bow, i decide i should look into getting one as soon as possible. Perhaps i could even make one. (What craftsmanship skill do you need to make wooden weapons? I didn't see anything about that.)

If i have the skills to make a bow i look around for some good building materials.
