While I have ya, I've been meaning to respond to your last post on the Black Friday thread. I waited to respond because, at first, I wanted to contemplate the thought longer. I decided (obviously at this point lol) for now to keep those as Forum Game Avatar Items. I think it's important for those to have some draw for some exclusive items that are highly sought after. It helps to boost participation and stuff for the various games we throw out and helps to keep that reward a still valuable and prestigious reward.

I can see how things go throughout the next year and see how much those items are circulating and re-visit the idea of just directly selling them.

As to the other thing, consideration is all I ask. ;) As much as the 'got to get all the avatar items RIGHT NOW' side of me wants them in the diamond shop to buy immediately, I do understand that you've got a large playerbase and a lot of numbers and items to juggle. I do really appreciate how involved you are in the community; it's part of why I keep coming back to Sylestia however many times I try to leave. :P The fact that you actually listen and give our comments due weight is something whose value cannot be overstated.

Basically, keep up the good work. :D I may not agree with every decision you make, but I trust Sylestia a whole lot more than any other pet game out there.

They will eventually expire and be able to be vendored for 500 gold a piece.

They will not be use-able next year.

So I had leftover sun tokens from the summer fest that I accidentally used a few days ago...is there any way to get them back or are they just gone forever?

It won't matter. You will still be given the expired tokens when they are switched over before next Summer Festival.
