There are three ways you can go.
Forward ( in the way away from the hamsters ) - path you've been on for a while
Left - Misty, sounds of more running water.
Right - Runes line the sides of it.

"I wonder what they mean. Or if they're magical, what they do." Nikkie says, reaching out to trace one of the designs. A shock of green runs through the runes, and Nikkie yanks his hand away as if he had gotten shocked. His eyes turned into the green glowing in the runes for a moment, but the glow was gone as quickly as it had come from both Nikkie's eyes and the runes.

"I'm sorry. What was that?" Nikkie asks, turning to you with a rather blank expression. His eyes were a darker shade than normal.
The rune seems to vibrate beneath your hand, warm and alive.

"Me? Possessed? No way. They'd have to try harder than that." Nikkie says with an uncharacteristic edge to his voice. He turns from you and motions to the passage. "So, are we continuing?" He asks, his expression cold and calculating as he inspects the runes and passage up ahead.

The path continues, runes trailing along beside them. Suddenly, the floor drops out from under you. You drop a few feet before landing on an uneven floor. Nikkie goes to the edge of the hole you had dropped into.
He starts laughing, "It seems the elf meant to literally watch your step."
