"Most definitely. This is the centre of Anaia - people from all of the territories meet here, and so does all of their gold. The number of black-markets in dark alleyways and fraudulent traders will be unimaginable," Skywhisper muses. "What is we're planning to do here with regards to that anyway?"
(Sorry for the delayed response, I still had your response ping around but was putting off replying to a lot of things for a couple reasons :/)
"Well, you know I enjoy a little chaos. So I was wondering if you were up for, say, sabotaging some of those fraudulent trades? But first," I say, pulling out the Chillfest Present and waving it, "we have a present! Bestowed upon us by the Narrator Gods!"

(It's no problem at all, I just realised that as a narrator I was probably meant to send reminders every so often. But I'll keep that in mind next time, you have all the time you need :) )
"So long as we're careful around some of the more dangerous clans..." Skywhisper muses, "...that doesn't sound too bad an idea to me." He looks over at the present, chirruping: "The magic of Chillfest knows no bounds!"
Inside the present is Chillfest Mince Pie (8/8).
"That'll last us a while," he comments.

The orc comes over to inspect the tracks himself, nodding. "I agree. We go and find your friends, then."
You both head off of the Adventurer's Road, following the tracks. They are mainly quite straight - as the orc said, his old clan seems to be going straight to the capital, Boulder.
Walking for rest of day - stamina successful
Dark clouds begin to gather overhead as you travel over the snowy grasslands. The kidnapper convoy could have anything from a day to a few days head start on you both.
The only sign that night has fallen is the darkness that envelops the world. You've been travelling all day, following the churned up snow, but now the tracks are impossible to make out against the rest of the snow under the pitch-black sky.
The orc sniffs at the air, grunting: "Snow come soon. Cover up tracks, make us lose the trail." He looks down at you. "We stop for night, or carry on before snow?"

Crimson's ears drop guiltily. "...sorry," she whispers this time. Once she gets a scent of the pudding, though, she perks back up and gobbles it down. "Thank you!" she says.
Numbat and the others have already sorted themselves out. The former takes his hands from his ears with a pained expression, double-checking that Crimson has stopped yowling.

"Morning. Long day ahead," he greets you.
You feel hungry
"It's alright Crimson. Good morning Numbat," Asteria quickly eats a piece of the Chillfest pud. She packs up camp as well, "Ready?"

(You are on the forest outskirts, so on the border of the two)
"I hope so too," he says, dragging himself over to the side of the 'Road and accepting the feed packet with a relieved expression. "Thanks. This should do me."
On the border between the Eastern Territories and the Central', there is plenty of both types of fuel. Your small hatchet is capable of chopping smaller, fallen branches into pieces and easily cuts you bundles of dry grass.
Neither type of fuel is going to stay dry much longer, however. Heavy clouds have been gathering overhead for much of the day, the sort that dump a layer of snow on you.
Your fire magic is more than enough to start the fire going.
In practicing your gift, your magic strength has increased to level 1

"As much as I'll ever be," Numbat says. Whether he's being pessimistic or optimistic is hard to tell. Crimson, however, nods vigourously in a very clear display of barely contained joy.
Shootingstar steps forward, ready to lead the way through the mountains.
Do you wish to fast travel to the mountains until nightfall?

(I'll take it that you equipped the winter gear, please correct me if I'm wrong)
Your party follows Shootingstar as he takes you up into the mountain passes. You leave the foothills behind as you start up into the rocky paths that generations of dwarves have carved into the land.
Snow begins to fall later on in the afternoon as your group gains altitude. More than once, the mountain path is partially blocked by snow or rockfalls. In the Chillsky season, no dwarf clans are out clearing the blockages. It's only a matter of time before there'll be a path blocked entirely.
Crimson appears to be having the time of her life. As the snow begins to fall, she begins bounding around to catch snowflakes on her tongue. As it gets heavier, though, she runs back to you to shelter from it.
From the way the world darkens to the point that even Numbat reports he is struggling to see ahead of him, it's pretty clear that night has fallen. The snow is as high as your boots, not at your ankles though, and shows no sign of stopping.

(Yeah it was implied that she did equip winter gear)
"Alright before we get snowed in let's make camp and shelter for those who don't want to be in the tents,'' Asteria looks around for branches especially fir branches.
