"Night," Brazentalons nods, settling his head on his talons for the night.
When you wake, the fire is down to the embers. Morning has barely broken, heavy frost having accumulated overnight and not yet melted. Your blanket has kept the worst of the frost away, though.
The first most unavoidable change at the campsite, however, are the hoofprints in the frost just a hairsbreadth from where you and Brazentalons slept.
"Shelter's better than nothing," Numbat shrugs. A dark look passes over his face and he continues: "I should have brought firewood from Flintswood forest."
You both clear a little spot and the tents are set up before the heavy snow can undo your work. The young creatures pile in as soon as they can, shivering in the cold. They're small enough that what's just thick snow for you is a serious problem for them. Numbat quickly retreats into his own tent, shaking snow from his shoulders as he goes.
It's a tight fit, but with the cold outside nobody's complaining. With four creatures of the blazing southern continent, the space is soon filled with warmth though.
Asteria quickly gets in the tent, "Okay in the morning we collect wood if we find any agreed? Also if it's not snowing too heavily Crimson would be willing to hunt please and you as well Emberpaw?"
The orc's mouth hangs open in awe. "Okay. I do that. Wish I could do that myself though," he says, his wide eyes lit up by the glowing flames. "Too clumsy to even use firestarters."
After practicing your magic, both actively and passively during your cold day's journey, your magic skill has increased to level 2. All fire-element proficiencies now boosted by +2
Do you wish to set up camp and rest until morning, or have you anything else to do first?
Hmmm....He can eat in the morning or whenever he wakes up at night to keep the fire going or something. So thats np problem....yeah he'll probably niblle something later.
"Thanks i guess? Honsotly youre one of the like, less the a dozen people ive met who havent looked terrified when i say that. Come swith hving grown up ina hoghly flamable forest." He chuckled as he set up his stuff. He might as well open his cholfest present now.

Rightio. Fair enough.
Welcome back, you've faded right back into existence at the same time as I have! Awfully convenient for me! Ummmmmm, honestly don't have a clue where we ended off, but I've read back through a few of the last replies and this is what I've come up with!
- Uhhh, so, a Yeti is chilling with me for the time being found in a river from memory
- We were heading towards mountains probably in the northern territories?
- Prior to that I befriend some potentially problematic people and burnt down a warehouse for them
- They gave me a sweet bow
- I found plants! That was nice, no clue what they were thou

"Wonder what a centaur wanted with us. Oh well." I set up the fire again and warm up a little as I eat 1/4 of a bread loaf and give Brazentalons some griffin feed. "Whenever you're ready, buddy."

Hullo there! Thank you, the timing was spot on :P
Anyways. Well, that crazy adventure sounds about right compared to what I vaguely remember happening xD
All I can contribute is that you all got a Chillfest present, which you can open and get 8-days worth of food from. And that I'm on maybe once a week or so these days, so no worries if you're in the same boat.
I'll assume it's daytime, and get a post to you soon as I can! :)

The freezing air surrounds you as you stand on the banks of the river. The sun is high above you in the clear blue sky, but its rays provide little warmth in the middle of Chillsky.
The yeti, however, seems happy in the cold environment. He digs at the icy ground nearby, tearing up some strange root or vegetable from the ground and crunching loudly on it.
In the middle of the cold-gripped wilderness, alone save for a wary companion, what's your plan?

The assorted creatures nod in agreement. Firewood is not going to be turned down now.
The two hellhound pups look at one another at your question. "Uhh..." Crimson trails off, giving you a guilty look. "I don't know. It's really snowy here, and we haven't seen a single thing we could hunt since we entered the mountains."
Emberpaw nods as she speaks.
"I don't like the snow any more," Crimson adds sulkily, curling up and looking at you with sad eyes over her tail.

(Usually folk get food, but since you've already got tonnes of food and no more inventory space...)
You open the present to reveal Chillfest Backpack (weight capacity: 15)
The orc laughs. "Flammable forest? Try living in land that is on fire all the time! Ground on fire, hills on fire, sky on fire... my kind get used to it." He grins, adding: "Your fire magic be at home where we going."
The orc hunches over the fire, within seconds he is snoring. Seems sleep comes easily to this orc.
In the morning, the fire is down to embers. Today, though, the cold air bites you less - your fire magic is stronger than ever before, and keeps the Chillsky weather at bay.
You feel hungry

You and Brazentalons are fed for the day
The chill leaves you as the fire comes back to life.
Brazentalons, however, jumps up - wings askew as he spins, staring at the tracks.
"Centaur?!" he caws. He turns back to you, a fearful look in his eyes. "Rose! Don't you see? It's that centaur that I saw at the city gates! He disappeared in the commotion, I thought I was seeing things... but I mustn't have been."
He puts his head to the ground, following the tracks back and forth. He points with a talon, gesturing for you to come over. "Look. He came from the forest, not the road. He's been following us. You don't just sneak into someone's camp without waking them for no reason. He has to have been after something."
He continues to walk alongside the tracks, carefully avoiding disturbing them in his search for answers.
