Whisper knew Mino wouldn't expect her to understand what she was saying, but she responded clearly.
"You must be a halfie then, but I'm not sure why they'd believe you're a hunter. I didn't find anything off about you, yet at least."

Mino's ears flicked in surprise but she met Whisper's gaze "I'm not a hunter. What is a halfie? Are you one?"

"To put it simply, halfie's are like us. We might have animalistic features and stuff like that, which is how I'm able to communicate with you right now." Whisper said quietly, keeping her gaze held on Mino's smaller body.

Mino tail flicked slowly as she put the pieces together in her mind, that's why my parents glared at me when I left and that's why they said this school was for "people like me!" That's my they sent me away, She thought looking at Whisper sadly "My parents don't want me."

She felt her hidden rounded ears slightly flatten, despite them already being flat. "I..I'm sorry that happened to you." Whisper rested her head on her arm, allowing it to slightly tilt while she did so.

"I just want to go home," She bowed her head, being so quiet she could hear the sound of herself breathing, I wish I could fit in, she thought thinking back to what her parents always said "Stop talking! You annoy us to death! I wish we never got you, it was a bad choice to make!"
Mino flinched, not meeting Whisper's gaze and jumped off the counter past her, letting herself land on the floor with a thud. She felt herself shift until she was standing again as a human, almost falling over in exhaustion, whatever she had done had tired her alot.

Whisper backed away and stood when she leapt down, swiftly reaching her arms out when she shifted back to human. She caught her just in case she stumbled, it seemed like she had cat-like reflexes, able to move around swiftly even without trying. "Well, you're back to being a human again, at least. It's better than being stuck in that form where almost nobody can understand you."

Oni walked into the hallway just to see a black and white cat speed by. He heard some people yelling and looked in their direction, wondering what was up.


Ruby was still frozen, and Opal was reciting the names of every candy she ever ate to Ruby in their head.

"I guess that's good," She let out a tiny yawn, relaxing in Whisper's grip, as she felt her head start to sag "So tired," She mumbled before she drifted to sleep, snoring softly.

"H..How can you fall asleep so fast and be so trusting..." Whisper said, kind of stuck in place, wondering what to do. She took a glance in the mirror, noticing the bandages that helped to hide her mouth begin to soak up blood, which began to test her patience, causing her to panic. Whisper just sat down on the floor in the washroom awkwardly, carefully lying Mino's head and torso on her lap, the bandages around her mouth soaking more and more, slowly.
