Visit Destination: Seoul
Location: Capital of South Korea.

Explanation: I would love to see Seoul because I love metropolitan cities, and there are actually so many places I want to visit in Korea! And k-pop stuff as well. (Yes, I'm one of those crazy people who obsess over Korean boy and girl bands. EXO and Red Velvet are my favorite!)

Visit Destination: Scotland
Location: Bordering England to the southeast.

Explanation: I love hiking and natural areas, and Scotland provides both! Also the home of some amazing dog breeds.

Visit Destination:

Moscow, Russia

Explanation:

I've always been interested in Russia for some weird reason, so when I found out how colorful and how beautiful the architecture of the buildings are, I've wanted to visit since. I LOVE old and interesting architecture so I think this would be a great place to go to get ideas or enjoy the view.

Design:

Visit Destination:

Swiss Alps, Switzerland

Explanation:

I love mountains, but I don't get to see them much as I live in Kansas. Out of most images I've seen of mountains, I think the Swiss Alps are the most beautiful. I want to go see them, and maybe even climb them if possible.

Design:

Travel Destination:

Nagoya Castle, Nagoya, Japan

Explanation:

Not very deep, I just love the castle color and design. Plus I wanted to visit Japan since I was a child, I would love to go here instead of a more popular area because this city apparently doesn't get as much tourist traffic, unlike Tokyo and Kyoto.

I am thankful for all the submissions thus far, and am looking equally forward to those yet to come. For now though, I have a personalized message for each and everyone of you. All you have to do is find your name below to see what I have to say. You can take it as you will, as what I have to say is mere suggestions, comments, and or critiques. If it is a needed change, I will most assuredly let you know.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

@Bunny...I think your destination selections are interesting choices. Both offer a great number of things to see. Let's start with your 1st destination, Alaska. Alaska is a hard state to visit, as you have to be particular about when and where you go. Most of the reasoning is some of the time it is day time 24 hours, where on some occasions it is night time 24 hours a day. And during the winter it is blistering coat more so than any other state with in the US. And during the summer months it is beautiful as all get out. And with the activities you would look forward too, I would recommend summer time for that so it isn't as cold to enjoy them. And speaking of Alaska, your reference picture is a beautiful shot of the Alaska country side. It is peaceful and serene. Your griffi design is nice, but your color choices are a bit faded. I would honestly saturate the colors a little more to match the colors of your reference picture. Maybe add a little more green and even some golden brown maybe. But those are mere suggestions on that one.

As for your Jeju island...I agree it is an oddly shaped island. I am curious to know how it came to be It is almost like an elevated crate like. Maybe a volcanic in nature at one point, whom knows. But very interesting. As for your design, it is very green. If you want to go that route, why not add different shades of green instead of the same color over all? Maybe include some of the other colors notated in your reference picture might really help make your design pop. Otherwise, keep up the awesome job you are doing designer!

@Sophie...Switzerland is a very nice country. A high tourist spot for avid skiers for sure. But is there a particular city or spot in Switzerland you like? As for the mountains, I must agree. They are peaceful. I use to live in a group of mountains and they are absolutely gorgeous during every season. The colorful falls, and winters especially. The water falls from rain drainage crystalize and shimmer in the sunlight like stationary diamonds. It is a sight to behold. But I am bias that way I think. As for your griffi design, I think you did very well. I think the leopard tail oddly enough does work well. To me it looks like it represents the softness/puffiness of snow. I think your trait choices and colors were pretty spot on.

However, with your Vienna, Austria design...Which is another great location...You used too much soft yellows. There is so many colors present in your second location that you could have taken advantage of. I forgot the name of the gene trait you used, but the yellow does work well with it as it looks like different parts of the wings are catching bits of sunlight which is nice. But defiantly you have some greens you really could have taken used, and the burnt sienna among many others. Your paradise tail trait I am not sure is a great fit, but maybe if you switched it out with Imperial Dragon, or ornate wing guards might have been a better choice?

For your final design of Black Forest, Germany...I think you gave a great reference picture. It does in fact have a lot history. However, I feel like you slipped back with this one. I saw in griffi design you had some creative flow. Colors where great, you slipped a little with a bit of blandness with your second design as it felt slightly more muted then it needed to be. Your third Nixi design though nice...Seems, I don't mean to be mean, but bland. Your soft matte tri-color green is nice, but you could have accented the colors with another...Maybe a golden color to reflect the rays of sunlight beaming down to the forest floor, and or some of the soft muted reddish brown to represent the fallen leaves? Otherwise, you did an amazing job this week. Keep up the great work!

@Limor...You brought about the haunt...I love that. For your first design "Eureka Springs, Arkansas", I think there was also a tv show filmed there too. Either way, your design was nicely done but there are so so so many colors you could have hinted at or used in your design. But then again, using a fall reference picture that is the big problem. There are TOO many good colors to chose from here, and with your dark design...Some brighter colors, or traces of some would really make it have the fall pop/feel to it I do believe.

With your second dark design, Cresent Hotel Lup, I think it was beautifully done. I do feel you hit the nail on the head with this one, as you had just the right hues that give it that aged old vibe. There isn't much I can suggest it at all, as it seems like it would fit just perfectly into your reference picture.

With your third design...That is a big fat NOPE from me. I don't mind horror movies, the paranormal, and what have you. I am not afraid of ghosts nor clowns. But ghost clowns are a whole other creep factor that would send chills down my spine. Excellent choice for a haunt, and place to visit if you want to see if you can get in touch with something from your other side. In regards to your design, colors are intentionally mix matched with clowns. So that is ok. Though, I think it would have been better to have the fire dancer garb than the spiked color. A mere suggestion on that front. Otherwise, very well done.

Your Abandoned Metro North Mall, Kansas, design was very well done. Again there isn't much I can suggest changing here outside of maybe...You might want to actually darken it a little to create more of a shadowed look? If that makes sense.

In regards to your fifth design, Skinwalker Ranch, Utah...I am with you on that. I would love to experience this world's paranormal hot spots. I mean I respect culture of all kinds, but the possibility of the unknown as often been very alluring. Heck, if we knew each other better I would be all about lets travel and go ghost hunting...lol. For now though, via picture will have to do. Your design is nicely done, but you miss the opportunity to include the various shades of green. You don't need a lot, but just enough to hint at would have been perfect.

Your Marfa Lights, Texas design oddly enough seems a bit bright...Maybe darkening it slightly would help make the light aspect of the design pop more as they do in your reference picture?

And lastly, for your Abandoned Joyland Amusement Park, Kansas design....Bravo...I really like that design and think again you matched it spot on. Very well done this week!

@Arcane...The picture you painted with your words really draws me in. However, why would you want to go there? That is something that is needed. If you can fix that before deadline to be eligible that would be great. As for your design itself, I think your faelora design is very pretty. I do truly like it...However, I do suggest taking advantage of some of other colors you see with in your reference picture. LIke the gorgeous coloring in the colors..The various shades of green. Maybe even use the headdress mutation to give it a little more of the native vibe...I know isn't Incan, but it would be a nice touch. Until then, let me know when you make that change and good luck!

@Dragon...Your "Perth,Australia" design was very well done. I think you could use a hint more cyan to show the brightness of your one image as your kelpari design does match it more. Though, I do not see any of your second image for your Perth,Australia destination in your design at all. Maybe have one kelp look like your first image and the other look more like your city image at night? A mere suggestion there, otherwise very well done.

For you Hobbiton New Zealand design, I think that was an awesome idea. I mean whom doesn't want to see the home of the Baggins(s). Very nice touch..Very nice indeed. I admit I wonder if they let you tour the home a bit. That would be awesome. And in truth I can't really say much in regards to your design, as it is well done. The only thing I can remotely suggest is that maybe incorporate more various shades of green, or pick some other colors you see in your reference picture and add them to the design? Otherwise, very well done this week.

@Megacharizardx...I love that you came back for this challenge, and that you choose the Forbidden City. It is a place of great history and architectural design. I can see why you would like to visit. I think you used the color hues of your reference picture very well in your design and it pulled off. Very well done.

@Stryker...First off, there are more than just boy bands in Kpop...Have you tried the girl band known as Black Pink? They are very decent in my opinion. But enough of that..lol. I think it is nice you choose Seoul. A lot of cities get over looked, because so many want to escape rather than look with in. So nice touch with that. My only issue is that you used your magenta way too much with this design. Your reference picture is a twilight city skyline. There are a lot of rich dark colors that have that go well that you could have used in place of the brightness of the magenta. Outside of that, that is the only thing I would suggest changing...Just tweaking the color choices, as the mutations are perfectly fine choice.

As for your Scotland design, I think you chose a brilliant country to visit. My only issue again in this is that your design is a bit bright. You may want to play with darker muted and or saturated colors to capture your reference picture in you design. Until then, you are doing brilliantly. Way to go!

@Koterfaye...You submitted 3 brilliant designs, with each really well done. Your Moscow, Russia griffi really has that Russian vibe that I think you captured beautifully. The only change I could recommend is to mute down the green a bit and add a bit of the cream coloring I see coming through. Otherwise, brilliantly done from color to trait. It is very top notch there.

As for your "Swiss Alps, Switzerland" design, I think you really captured your reference picture with the frosted blue of the snow down to the picture of greens. Very well done. The only thing I think takes away from your design here is the pink of the flowers, as I see no real amounts of pink in your reference picture at all.

And lastly, you Nagoya Castle, Nagoya, Japan, design was nicely done. However I am not really seeing white in the castle but a muted soft pink color that almost appears white. Outside of that, I think it is lovely over all. You really did extremely well this week hon. Keep up the great work!

I edited my design(s) based off what you said. (I like girl bands, yes, but not really BlackPink. I prefer Red Velvet.)

The only thing I can say to that is...That if you research the Forbidden City, and see some of the predominant colors and use those in your designs rather than the soft pastels that are seen in your reference picture. Outside of that. That is about it at this moment. I honestly don't see much wrong with it. Then again your next challenge might be different. :-)
