[1/4/2024] Art for Draculina (#76469) ~ Draculina's OCs
Version with stitches: https://i.imgur.com/bBGHSAp.jpeg
I think I finally have a consistent rendering style for hair XD Tried using more of the flat brush instead of my usual go-to, the round brush. And, I need to figure out how to make characters look more immersed into their background hmm...

[1/15/2024] Art for Calyrex (#72557) ~ Calyrex's OC
Made cleaner than usual lineart for this. I was quite happy with the flame effects!

Can't remember if it was this guide, but I did refer to a guide for drawing paws lol: https://i.pinimg.com/236x/36/3e/24/363e240374d455b5544ade8268b07105.jpg

[2/3/2024] Art for Frostfal (#163766) ~ Frostfal's OC
I recall I had some trouble with the background. Fortunately it turned out fine!
Something about the character's pose looks kinda off though... :')

[6/5/2024] Art for Hershey (#52711) ~ Hershey's Darigan Bori's Sushi Feast
Had a mixture of "no time" and "no mood" to draw prior to completing this oops. So instead of following my usual step-by-step process (i.e. sketch --> lineart --> base colour --> render --> background), I tried simply doing whatever I felt like doing at the moment. This actually made the whole process a lot smoother and quicker, since I tend to get bored of doing the same thing pretty easily XD
Inspiration for the floating things in the background hahah: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0613/0437/3481/articles/Ikura_sushi.jpg?v=1683722823

[10/1/2024] Personal Art ~ Sylesti Sketches (Part I)
I've been trying to properly learn and practice drawing recently. Started off with animal anatomy (sort of), where I basically find some real animal pictures online and try to draw them as best as I can. I thought it'd be fun if I did it with Sylesties too! I think the results turned out not bad. Definitely better than what I could have drawn in the past. My favourite is probably that zolnixi in the top left corner XD
I hope to draw every single sylesti species eventually (I hope). There are so many though! Hence, I'll be splitting them into a few groups, maybe based on their type.
Note to self: perhaps don't use a pencil brush next time, or at least find one that doesn't change thickness every few stokes :')

[10/24/2024] Personal Art ~ Sylesti Sketches (Part II)
These were a tough bunch to draw. Not sure what category they fall under, but I suppose "winged sylesties that like trees" kinda works. I probably had the most trouble with the lunemara at first ---- it either didn't look like a bug, or didn't look cute at all. Also got confused drawing its many legs (or are they arms?). Turns out drawing feathered wings is quite satisfying. Tiring too though :')
Anyway, I tried out some nice watercolour brushes that I downloaded for free (link below). Pretty sure I'm not using them right, but it was fun nonetheless! Perhaps my choice of colours was not the best, but I'm overall happy with the results XD
Another 4 sylesties down, 13 more to go! (I hope I did the math right)
edit: forgot to mention that I conveniently gave the Aeridini a pampas tail lol

Stared in awe at a bunch of pictures of swans and their magnificent wings. I forgot which picture I eventually used as the reference for the Aurleon though oops

[11/14/2024] Personal Art ~ Sylesti Sketches (Part III)
Just realised I accidentally spelt "sketches" as "skethes" lol (and I'm too lazy to change it :P)
Anyway, I tried to apply something I had learnt recently while drawing these: simplifying to " CSI "-shaped lines, and trying to create asymmetry, for eg. by strategically placing different shaped lines opposite each other. At least, that's what I understood from a video by Marco Bucci (linked below).
And I think the results of doing these paid off! This is definitely my favourite set of sylesti sketches (I mean, "skethes") thus far! Still need to practice more though, since I admit most of the time it slipped my mind. The only thing that bothers me a little is perhaps that sylvorpa ---- not sure what it is but something looks off... oh well :/

References & Resources:
Used a picture of a stoat, and a picture of a sleeping fox as reference for the Ferrikki and Luffox respectively, but I can't seem to find the exact images anymore :')
And a pretty inspiring video by Marco Bucci: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmUMhMs5vFE

[01/06/2025] Personal Art ~ Sylesti Sketches (Part IV)
(I finished this quite a while ago, but intentionally delayed posting it to lengthen the life of this thread ^^')
This time, I decided to group all the hoofed sylesties together. You might be able to tell, from the quality of the lineart (or the lack thereof), that I started off with the Fae and... progressively got lazier and messier XD
Hmm, I'm not too happy with the way I drew the Kelp (might be the mane I think), but I am quite pleased with how the Qit turned out! Just that, I kinda forgot Qits don't have regular horse tails by default.
And I'm not sure what to feel about the Griffi. I attempted to draw its face from the front view and now it sort of looks like an... Angry Bird?? Oh well.
Anyway, if I did the math right, I have only 5 sylesties left!
(On a side note, I had to retype this entire post because I just had to click on that easter egg that randomly popped up :'))
