This took my a while to upload because I am experiencing ~technical difficulties~ with transferring photos. But, here are the pics! I did multiple pumpkins, and I chose to upload the Halloween Weiner Dog (Halloweiner) that I carved.

Its not great since I forgot to get a carving kit or something, so I just used a kitchen knife lol.

Link to the Imgur album, if anyone would like - includes a few extra photos of the pumpkin lit up.

It was a struggle to wrangle a decent pumpkin down here is Australia, so I settled for the next best thing: a butternut squash! This is my very first time carving a pumpkin and it was wayyyyyy harder than I expected! Anyways, here's my attempt at a ryo pumpkin!

(The aim for this pumpkin is hidden behind this first photo :p)

It started getting fairly uncontrolled at this point >>

I ended up carving this WAY later than I intended due to some Stuff(TM) happening with both my health and my family, but better way late than never I guess :.D

I wanted to carve a more realistic Ryori skull (assuming the ghost puppies even have bones), inspired by the Grim Rose ryo, with Grim Roses around it.

To start, I had to figure out what a Ryori's skull would even look like. I plopped an image of a ryo in a paint program, and using my somewhat okay knowledge of skeletons, made my best impression of a ryo skull:

I decided it was most similar to a cat skull, so I used cat skull photos for reference.
I drew this, and cut it out to trace on the pumpkin (I ended up not putting the little spiderweb on it)

Bonus! My Buddy with the pumpkin

I then cut around it with a pumpkin knife, and carved in the details with both the sharp and dull sides of an exacto knife blade (sharp was best for making the cut through the skin, dull was better for widening and deepening the details). The pumpkin ended up being a type that really wasn't that good for carving (it had thick, dry stringy flesh, and tough skin) and all of the detail carving was a lot more difficult than I anticipated because of it.

I then freehanded on some Grim Roses with a sharpie, and carved them out the same way I did the skull details. This took....a while.

And here's the finished product!

I decided to carve a nectarine:

Slipped a couple of times in certain sections with the nectarine being soft but it looks like scars ^^
