You enter the small restaurant in the mountains. It is bitterly cold outside and all you can think of is something warm to eat. All of a sudden, a wonderful, cheesy smell reaches your nose. It is so enticing that your mouth begins to water immediately, and you can almost see the aroma wafting in slow orange whirls from around the corner. Eager, you run out of the lobby into the main section. On the table, as if waiting for you is a pot of cheese fondue! A thin column of steam is rising lazily from the molten surface of the yellow cheese. The edges are rimmed with a sunflower yellow, while the centre is a rich buttery colour. You wish for even a crumb of the honey coloured delicacy, but alas, you have no money! The owner of the cottage senses your distress. The kind old lady offers you the steaming pot with these words: You may take the fondue, all of it. I can see your great desire for it. I will give it to you free of charge on one condition. Here, the old lady pauses, a smile touching her shriveled lips. You must learn the art of fondue and make it yourself .
