For those 4 minutes or so I was actually designing my Vulnyx, since I went directly from generating Phoenix to creating my Vulnyx, unless pressing the "update generator" button somehow consumed the item. I then tried to create the pet, got the error, and went to my inventory to find the essence gone but I never got the pet.

Argh...I've become another victim of the missing essences...I lost my Draeyl essence

Hit "Randomize" --> Switched Species to "Draeyl"
The first thing I did was design my Draeyl as a male...(Didn't realize I needed a female one)
Then when I switched it to Female Draeyl (double checked the color/marking)
Hit the button "Generate My Sylesti" --> "Yes"
Then I got this message "There was an Error! You must have an Draeyl Essence to create this pet. "

Just to make sure. You only ever clicked the "Yes" button once, right?

The "Yes" button triggers everything. So there's no reason the gen pet function should ever be called without clicking the "Yes" button. Also, your essence is listed as "consumed" in the database, so I'm just trying to figure out how it said it couldn't find an item... while finding and removing it. Since that doesn't make sense, I'm assuming at some point prior it was consumed along the process and then when you went to go gen it, it was already gone.

Since it's listed as 'consumed', it at least removes an Inventory bug out of the equation lol.

My best guess is somehow, somewhere, it called the gen pet function with invalid results, but realizing you've picked a species. So it goes through, finds your item, uses it, then goes to add the pet but fails because something's invalid. It really doesn't make much sense, but I can't think of anything else that would fit with what keeps happening.

I tried seeing if accidentally clicking "Yes" multiple times was the culprit, but all that happened was I generated the same pet for as many Essences I had.

I still can't duplicate the issue of where the Essences are consumed and the pet isn't created. Especially if you guys are having your Essences consumed after it errors saying you don't have the Essence.

I'll return your Essence to you and will keep trying to figure this out. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

I didn't double click the yes button at once. The first time I clicked it, it already said my essence was used (clicked again thinking it might go through)...I should have double checked to see if maybe my previous creation used two essences, but I didn't. If it happens again, I'll let you know exactly what I did and with a bit more details...if I can xD

Latest victim of the vanishing essence ;w; Acquired a Zolnixi essence during nurturing, went to the generator and then was told I didn't have the item when I went to generate my pet.
