@willow

Thanks for the info! i already understand how dominant and recessive work, i just needed to know what was dominant over what, thats easy that it just goes in order.

ok last question i can think of. if you use the color philter to change the color of your pet. can you keep using them to get closer and closer to what you want?

like lets say i want pure red. 255-0-0 and i use the color philter and i get 250-0-5

if i use another one, will the 0 stay the same (since it already matches) and the other 2 get closer, or will there be a chance the 0 also changes maybe up to 5 or whatever?

(First I just want to note that if you want to ping someone all you need to do is type their user name into the 'Ping Users' Box or click the little @ att he bottom of their post. otherwise they will not realise you have messaged them)

Yes Dyes do not have a set limit to them though I do warn that if you want to get pure coloures such as Black or white I would save up and buy the greater Dye because otherwise be ready to use at least 5-9 dyes to get those colours.

No because the dyes go by their Hex code and no their RBG so Pure red is FF0000 as opposed to 255-0-0, so the hex number is what the dye changes.

ohhh sorry the ping this is pretty cool.

well FF0000 and 255-0-0 are exaxtly the same thing. hex codes translate directly to numbers, FF happens to translate to 255 and 00 translates to 0. so when a computer reads FF it sees it as 255.

but like the question is will it rechange numbers that are already where i want them. by your post i am assuming yes it will change numbers already exactly where i want them.

i never was much a fan of pure white and black. but pure red, blue and others can look neat and very striking.

will the greater color philter change the color to exactly what i want?

i am going to ask this question in a strange way and i hope it comes across ok. if the color of a child is somewhere on the gradient between the 2 parents. lets say i have one parent with color 10, and one with color 20, will the child be 10-20 or is there a chance to be slightly outside the range, like 8-22 or such to allow for some wiggle of the color gene?

i thought of another question. how close to siblings/parents can you breed? or does the game check?

Its all g. This Ping system is different to the old system we used to play on. A lot of people had to get used to it :)

The greater will change the colour to pretty much what you want, maybe one or two numbers off. but You will get far better results with them (that is not to say that you wont get good results with the lesser dyes, I do know people who have only had to use one lesser to get the right colour. I also know that I have dyed the same slot 7 times to get one colour close to what I wanted)

Generally I find that the child will be within the parents, but generally if one parent is lighter the child will take that parent. but if you put an orange parent with a purple parent you also have the chance of getting an icky brown.
I am not so good with random colours because my projects all have set colours so the parents are close together in the colour spectrum.

As for breeding. You can breed grand children with grand parents, and I think maybe uncles/aunts with nephews/nieces (though not as sure with those). this makes it easy when doing big projects like six vis.

Themed Pets

With the spring festival coming up, I bet everyone has heard of themed pets. But I don't think everyone knows what they are! I didn't know until someone told me less than a week ago. And now I want to share that knowledge!

Themed pets are pets of the same species that have around the same colors. They can have genes and mutations, but they will most likely always be different. Themed pets come up around festivals, and can be found in the festival zones. Even though they're described as the same species, usually all species have similar colors, and the colors will be representative of what the festival is celebrating. For example, themed pets in the Fortune Festival were shades of yellow, orange and green for St. Patrick's Day. This is helpful in case Sylestia doesn't post what they look like (I don't think they do, as they haven't in the past, as far as I know. But I haven't been around for any of the big, important festivals, so I can't say for sure that they never do.)
You can find themed pets by looking them up in the "Search". There is a specific drop-down menu called "Themed".
Themed pets can be bred together. Their offspring are technically not themed, but they are "pure bred".
There are also Triple Visible Themed Pets, which can only be won in the wheels (wheels are prize wheels that can be spun using wheel tickets found in the festival zones). These are very rare and highly valued.
That's all you need to know about themed pets! Well, other than that they are apparently fun to collect. So during the next festival, be on the lookout for them!

As part of this group, it is my job to help people with their breeding projects! So, here are what I have to offer to help others:
-A griffi essence
-Several pets with visible and carried genes and mutations that are available for breeding, including:
-Male Sylvorpa with visible Tidal Markings
-Female Sylvorpa with visible Water Tiger
-Female Sylvorpa with visible Body Webbing
-Female Aurleon with visible Zebra Finch
-Male Aurleon with visible Bleeding Heart and carried Phoenix Flames
-Male Puffadore with visible Fancy Swirls and carried Jeweled Wings and Flower Petals
-Male Zolnixi with visible Regal Markings
-Even more pets that don't have genes or mutations, but could be bred for color or stats
-An adolescent female Vulnyx with Advanced Runes
-Equipment that people can sell to gain money

That's it for now! If you have items or pets available for breeding, please post them! Thank you!

about the Themed pets.

No the site Admins do not post up a page of themed pets, but generally in the general thread a player puts up a thread of show off themed pets. I also know that in the Player guides there is a (rather old and not updated in a very long time) Guide of all those Special Event Pets.

I also found some of the player based threads in case you wanted to check them out. There is usually one put out each festival, so it would be a good idea to keep an eye out in the general chat for them when the festivals come around.
