This one... one person sings a line and someone else echoes it. (Shown in italics and brackets)

There was a bird, (there was a bird)
With a yellow bill, (with a yellow bill)
He landed on, (he landed on)
My windowsill, (my windowsill)
I coaxed it in, (I coaxed it in)
With some lemonade, (with some lemonade)
And blew it up, (and blew it up)
With a hand grenade! (with a hand grenade)

Hahaha, basically the "lead" person would try and come up with various different ways of coaxing the bird in and killing it in a fashion that rhymed. (Tizer and squishing it in a liquidizer was another I remember XD)

We could keep it going around the entire bus trip home from school. Must have driven our driver mad now that I think of it. Hahaha

I've never heard of these before. Ha! Awesome.

There was this thing we used to do to pick the order we'd take turns in a game. The kids would sit in a circle with both their feet in the middle and someone would be the pointer and say the rhyme.

Finger in the middle:
"Dip, dip."

Starting at a random foot and moving clockwise with each word:
"Dog $#!^, who trod in it?"

Whoever's foot they land on would say a name and the pointer would spell it, moving to a different foot with each letter.
Eg. "S-T-E-V-E"

The owner of the foot they landed on would take that one foot out of the circle and the pointer would continue.
"What colour was it?"

The person landed on would say a colour and it would be spelled.
Eg. "W-H-I-T-E"

Again the person landed on would take that one foot out.

The rhyme would be repeated untill there was only one person left. It's the pointer's choice whether the first person out would have the first or the last turn.

Sorry about this post but it's kinda hard to explain without physically showing you.

@Rjay

We used to do that as a method of choosing who was "it" when playing tag :3 (though we normally said "Ip dip... no idea why XD. Also we'd usually skip straight to the colour so it'd be "Ip dip, dog $#!@, what colour is it?" and then continue from there. The last person left was "it" haha)

The little details change from school to school. I bet your version of Bloody Mary is different to what I grew up with, too.
