So... I would not recommend looking up "gingerbread houses". You'll only feel worse about yourself. There are CASTLES of gingerbread! That's soooo intense! It made me both sad and hungry. lol
Honestly, really amazing stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing all the nifty houses!! They fascinate me.

omg, I was inspired by your disastrous house to make one equally as disastrous. xD
Out of all the stale stuff that's going bad in my dorm. LOL
All for the sake of participation. *u*

First ever attempt at anything gingerbread-housey. I may have bit off more than i could chew with this design XD
I wish I could have gotten more pics of the actual building process, as you may notice these are mostly decorating process...trouble with that would be that my icing was NOT at all cooperative, nor was the bag i was using to pipe it on...and I ended up having to put the icing on with my bare fingers...yeah, it was a mess XD So needless to say, my fingers were a bit glued together by royal icing during the creation process. I did take advantage a few times when my graham crackers ran out to take some pics then...)
I ran out of graham crackers so had to wash my hands to open up the package more so i could get to them easier, so took a pic here XD
Finished the base, time to decorate!
Almost done decorating! (I swear i took a pic before this too, but apparently it didn't actually take because I can't find it @-@ ) The marshmallows are supposed to be snowmen...
Features a white chocolate draw bridge and kitkat doorway! ^w^ Also almond kisses at the top of the sires to use as warning bells to signal intruders tot he castle!
Oh, so /thats/ how the drawbridge opens...with Twizzlers! Also take note of the back right spire...remember the Dot precarious perched on the edge in the pic before? Yeah, it jumped off the edge of the tower...
This si the finished castle! Also note, the towns-snowmen put up a cute little (big) Christmas tree in their courtyard! (it's very tasty if you put ice cream in through the stump as well...mmm)
Different view of the finished castle.
Yah, it probably would've turned out nicer if a: the icing hadn't decided I was a better home for it than the graham crackers, and b: The walls would've stayed up on their own the first time...instead of me having to fix them a million times @-@
And now, I shall go eat the leftover. Yum!
EDIT:
Decided to add some extras inside. hey look, things cooperated this time!
(These are a tad bit harder to see though, because dad moved the castle to a differnet counter where there is less lgiht >.<)

@absoluteinsanity: yep ^^ We made other little ones out of the remaining dough :) But there wasn't really any icing left after we threw it all on the house lol!
