I played pick a door, and I think I get to move on, if you get nothing does that mean you move on?

Round one lasts for three hours. You won't know if you'll move on until the next round starts.

Is there any way to NOT be pinged for stuff like this? It's really really annoying and takes a huge amount of the fun of the game away to be told "Hey here's something fun you could have been part of if you'd logged in before the end of your shift instead of waiting to get home and you should have known that even though we gave you absolutely no advance warning" and so far everything I've been pinged for since I signed up has been either "you missed out" or "you're too new to take part". To be honest, it's making me rethink joining up at all.

Everyone misses a few events every now and then. ^u^; I missed the last pick-a-door.

I don't remember if this option is available for Staff pings, but with standard pings there is a little that you can click to block pings from specific people.

There was mention of Pick a Door made on the 4th mini event post in the News and Announcements, it just hadn't been official on what day/time it was taking place. Additionally the set date/time for this was posted late last night, so technically where two posts about it and thus it wasn't without total warning, but I do see where you're coming from. However there's really no need to stress over these things, because they are optional.

I'd also like to add that this game has some heavy RPG elements to it so naturally there are going to be things you can't do until they are unlocked and/or you're a high enough level. However IF you have no interest in the RPG portion of the game you can still collect and breed pets so it's not like leveling up/unlocking things is the only stuff to do here. Though if you don't mind me asking, what is it that you think you're "too new to take part in?" because in truth there are extremely few things that a new player can't do.

IF you're feeling up to it please PM me and I'd be happy to help you out and maybe ease you misgivings about joining/playing.
