Since only tagged pets were able to update to the new accent color, won't there be a bit of a problem for purebred offspring compared to actual themed, now? As an example... I updated my Rabid Puffadores' Accent Color before thinking about this, and now I can see that their existing offspring no longer matches the theme colors. If I now breed one of said offspring with any Rabid Puffadore that has updated its accent color, I will get a "wrong" or non-themed accent color that will be somewhere between off white and very dark red. This obviously goes for any of the themes that had a change in accent color, so now I'm a little bit concerned. o.o;

You will have to use Pet Dyes or re-breed pets in order to adjust their colors.

The issue is... if I start changing 'bred' pets retroactively, it affects all of its children... and all of its children.. and all of its children... and so forth.

Additionally, there were about 1,900 pets directly affected by this change. There are ~120,000 Puffadore offspring. And I would somehow have to comb through those pets and figure out which would would apply and then - what do I do with their offspring because now their offspring don't match their parents, etc, etc.

Lastly, you don't have to adjust your pets' colors if you don't want to. If you find that it would mess up your breeding projects too much, you can opt to leave them the way they are. The choice is entirely up to you.

Or maybe just allow Accent Color to be regenerated on all Puffs, that way people have more of a choice of which variation they want? Rather than having to choose to stick with the old, or start from scratch (which by the way, is also a lot of work!). I think it would cause less confusion as well, if people could update all of their offspring colors - something that would take significantly less time than starting over - so that we don't have the issue of "what once was a purebred offspring no longer is because of this change". Delegate the fix to each user, and you won't have to do all the work yourself. :)

you chance the color of these themed, it will mess up becaus people still breeding how want to use old colors can not breed with the themed that got the new color and the same goes for people wanting the new colors...

that is why if 2 pets with the same tagge get an offspring there offspring should have gotten a tagge as PB of that themed. that way only pb offspring would come up for the color chance. becaus for mixed and random breed pets it don't mater. for a themed pet to stay a themed there colors need to be the ones of the design and the origenal pets need to have the tagge.... els what is the use of themed pets (and the projects with them)

for me pet dyes are not for themed pets becaus when a pet dye is used on a themed it is no longer that themed becaus the colors are no longer corect. there for i would never use them for a project of a surten themed pet. (this goes for tagged and pb offspring)

It should not be that hard to write a script that looks for the themed pets, and gives all their offspring and their offspring and so forth the ability to be recoloured for free.

This is not in my opinion something you should make all the users waste their time and energy, and if they were supposed to use dyes on them, money on.

Gah, still having issues with that puff. Updating its colors appears to have worked okay on its profile and when I copy the updated image code to the regular generator it looks fine, but the regenerator shows the old colors. I've taken a screenshot comparing what I see in the regenerator and regular generator:

If i regen it, will it use the new or the old colors?

if PB themed offspring where tagged it would be much easyer to make them a part of this new color update, becaus then it would be diverent then how the colors can be updated for the origenal tagged pets we have now.
so it is related to this becaus it could be the solution to the problem that has bin created.

Just putting my two cents in, not trying to offend or downplay anyone's concerns.

Personally, as a breeder of themed puffadores, I don't think this is that big of an issue. There are already several themes that have multiple color schemes - Tiger Lily Aeris, Morning Glory Faes, all the Patriotics....the differences between those variations were much more significant, and everyone acknowledges that there are two variations of one theme. I fail to see why this should be that different.

Secondly (I know this isn't what the thread is about but since it was brought up) - I'm strongly opposed to tags on purebred pets. In my opinion, it defeats the entire purpose of tagging pets in the first place. Tagged pets are special because they're obtained in special ways - whether it's catching them in a zone or building them through special fest features. Pets that come from breeding are not special in that regard. And purebred pets are not rare. It's easy enough to tell a purebred by looking at its lineage, I fail to see the need for a secondary tag that would (in my eyes) just make tagged pets less special.

Anyway. Thank you Krin, for making sure our puffs stay fabulous ^-^ We appreciate all your work!
