Does that mean that I can play the first round, any time between 12-3, but must have chosen my door before 3pm? So..that I can get up at 7:30am to play pick-a-door?

Correct.

You just have to of chosen for Round 1 before Round 2 begins. You can literally choose a door in the very last second as long as your submission is process by the server before it ticks over to Round 2.
