You need to make it easier to obtain gold in-game so more people can attend this kind of event. As it is, only people who have the luxury of buying diamonds and exchanging them for large amounts of gold in the currency exchange can afford to bid on those pets. I think that's a little unfair to other players.

There are still plenty of ways to make gold without buying diamonds. There's missions, tasks, dungeons, etc. Even if someone has a bunch of gold, they can only have one active bid at any time. Besides, the people that buy diamonds are helping to pay for the continued development of the game.

Actually, most of the winners each Auction are not typical Diamond purchasers like you've described.

Selling rare items, selling rare pets, and doing Missions account for the most Gold acclimation for players.

You should do missions and learn how to save money. That is how people get the gold to buy the diamonds from the exchange in the first place.

Ok maybe I didn't phrase it quite right, of course I know all the ways you can get gold. I have plenty of gold. I've been playing this game for years pretty much since the beginning. I'm just vouching for the people who are newer players still trying to get established. What I meant was that the amount of gold you get through those main methods should be increased. For example, battling bandits should get drops of between 100-300 gold instead of the extremely small amount they currently drop. At least have them drop enough to buy a lesser potion/elixir.

@Psykadika, @Kitzune

Hm, the issue is: If gold was more available, you would STILL have this issue. Where everyone has a few million gold but now the price of things are 10 million or 100 million gold because the advanced players who sell rare pets / items / services are STILL able to make that much. Its just inflation on a grand scale. I definitely see this on other pet sites.

And to me, it only makes sense that the people who have scrimped, saved, and worked hard for their gold should be able to participate for these extremely valuable prizes. Whether it is real world cash exchange or just saving it. I've seen new players able to spend a few million by selling rare pets they found, or not caring about the events and selling things. It's not impossible, or even really that difficult.

If you think about the real world, this is still the case. Some people, whether it falls in their lap or they work hard, have more money than others and will be able to go to expensive auctions unlike others. This is just how economics works.

Krin has adjusted a lot of the festival drops and once a player has access to those, it's a lot easier than it used to be to get some gold.

Please remember this is a game not real life. Most play these games to escape the problems of real world economics. This game should always stay fun!

lol I understand that. I'm just saying that making gold more available or easier to get will not solve the problem of newer players not having enough to participate.

I was citing from real life because that's just what ends up happening. Even in a game. Economy in a game is still an economy. It's just like those Easter bunny Luffs. They're pretty worthless because so many were available. Was it fun? Sure! But they're not very special now, are they?

And personally, I don't think easy = fun. I think it's fun to work towards something, save, and be able to feel special because you got something rare or unusual that you really wanted. Otherwise, why try for anything at all?

Edit: This isn't meant to sound harsh. Free things / easy to obtain things are super fun at first, but then there's a point of "now what?" Then it goes from fun to boring. Likewise, if things are too difficult, things get boring, I understand. But I think Krin has a pretty good balance going and I think there was talk of better money-finding in the MegaZone.
