She flinched, watching the comet burn. She turned her attention to the waking people, hopefully she could understand them.

After a moment, the people seemed to settle and lights began to turn out, signaling they were going to sleep. It seems you may be stuck in the night unless you can find someone who is still awake and friendly enough to help you. You can always go back to the ship to search for shelter for the night but who knows how safe the wreckage is.

She went to look for a house with lights on.

((Btw, let's say you crashed far enough away they didn't realize it was a ship, and they thought it was another comet. That's why they haven't noticed anything.))

You walk towards what seems to be quite a sophisticated village with many different creations that you've never seen before. What is the most intriguing is the homes in the trees, they look quite peculiar but high-tech in some weird way.

When you're closer to the village you notice one house in the trees with the lights still on, this could be your chance. It's a large tree so you'll have to climb the stairs spiraling upwards that seem small to you. But before you get a chance, you also notice another lighted home to your right, but in a smaller tree with a ladder instead of a stairway.

She ran up the stairs, light on her feet.

Running up the small stairs, you reach the platform and front door, which seems quite small to you. The people here must be shorter than your species which excites you, knowing you can learn more about other sentient people.

She tapped on the door, stepping back and waiting, nervous. She was about to meet a new alien species!

You hear an odd grumbling noise and footsteps coming towards the door. You hear what must be a lock click and the door opens revealing a short, furry creature who looks quite startled at your presence. It stands there for a moment with wide eyes and a gaping mouth as it looks over you. Then it seems to snap back to reality and shakes its head before speaking in a strange grumbly/snorting language which you don't understand and looks to you expectantly.

``Uhm...`` She thought, before shaking her head, signaling she couldn't understand.

The creature tilts their head, confused but also curious. They take a different approach and say words in what sounds like another language to see if you understand them but the words only sound like a garbled mess to your ears. Then the furry person suddenly speaks in your language, "Is this the right language? Let me know if you understand." And after saying that they wait a couple seconds to see your reaction.
