honestly, an app is a big protect. a simpler start could be just making it slightly more mobile/ tablet friendly. even then, that can wait unlit krin wants to/ has time. im not a coder, but i can imagine how long and hard it is to make something like this, and with only one person, they deserve massive amounts of respect.

An app and a website are honestly two entirely different things, requiring entirely different coding languages. Plus with an app, you have to code versions that are compatible with both ios and android, which adds additional trouble. For one person, thats a ton of work on its own. Add in that krin is also the only one in charge of the website as a whole, its just way too much to expect of one person.
Besides, if he codes for your average browser, that means you can still access it on mobile, even if it is slightly inconvenient. (Compared to making an app, which would be an entirely separate thing that would only be usable by those on mobile and not on browser) So focusing solely on the browser game makes it so that the maximum amount of people can access the site.

Some things don't work as well on mobile, that is true, annto add on to that Krin would either have to be able to code the app into the current game, or not as many people will online with the app.
A popular game that I play time to time when I am extremely bored is Animal Jam, and they have created a separate game with an entirely different look that someone can still call Animal Jam. The also have an app you can download on the computer, and I do believe that they have synced it with the web browser game, as it is a complete cut and copy of the original, just allowing you to not need to open up your browser. It would be extremely difficult if they were to do the same thing in a new mobile app. Personally, I'm quite content even though I mainly play Sylestia on mobile, and understand why an app wouldn't really work.
