My my, that is a long one. Currently at about line 60, I'm already getting a headache reading it! Imagine if someone had to write a college thesis about this, but they could only use the full protein name... I hope no one has to suffer through that!

haha, yes. Nightmare.
However, it is acceptable in scholarly work to abbreviate the term. So you use the full term once, and then indicate that you're abbreviating it and what the abbreviation is.
And then you can just use the short term for the rest of the paper

I actually read this in my bio class.
Fun Fact:
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words. Ironically, it's 36 letters long.
