The female's pose looks so much better here, like she's seen a mouse and is going for it. The male also looks better, easier to 'see' where rump ends and tail begins (although covered by wing). The 'dish' feather adjustment also looks excellent, although I hope the heart face also shows up for them at some point in the future! (Can't leave barn owls completely out xD)

Oh the faces look much better now! I still feel like the back legs are kinda awkward with the feathers cuz they're also really small. I also think it'll be cool if one of them was getting ready for takeoff or something as the picture, but I like the design!

They look very nice. I have bought a new Nyte male in anticipation!

to be fair, the leg feathers are far less silly than some of the ones bred back into activation on Fancy pigeons, and it is a perfectly valid trait bird-wise if you look at the theropod lineage (see example specimen: Microraptor gui)



anyway, onto our personal thoughts






Yeah! Look at those nice feathers! All that proper feather layering! Neat.
No more beard! I don't mind so much if nytes like, get "beard" muts or something, but as base design I really do much prefer this beardless version.

With the alterations to the wing, something now looks really weird about the back positioning/posture on the male.

Male's tail maybe could be shifted just a very slight amount to the side?
Male's shoulder, now that I'm paying mind, looks like it could be better with a bit of poking
Male's thigh is also, uh. Really really puny. Very small.

Female's beak could be better with just a little adjustment to the shape?

The necks have bothered me from the start, but I was kinda categorising that in with the Sultan pigeon comparison and forgot to elaborate, because We Are A Fool.
Nytes have long necks, but the sketches make them look short and kind of... ruffled

With the smooth flow of the neck into the chest, and the smoother (not necessarily flat, just... smoother) feathering and the elegant curve.


Still hoping for dimorphism to return in the eyebrow feathers.
(and also, no, I am never going to let go of the fingers thing. I like my two-thumbed dinobirds .`^. )

I think my complaints at this point are largely satisfied, but some things still bother me a bit:
1. Relaxing the raised female's claws
2. More of an S-shape in the neck and chest for both
3. I still feel like the heads look too big
4. The male's back can take a more extreme arch and his fore-feet can still be moved closer together

Dragons and owls are both animals I feel are associated with having a proud or regal stance. I think almost all of the suggestions up above are efforts to achieve that.

I have a few projects I collected but have not started yet. So excited to see where they will fit in :)

I know I'm late to the party but I think I really prefer the current nytes to the new ones. As a nyte collector, the biggest no-no thing for me is the fluffy-looking body feathers and the new male pose - the old one with the tail in front and below the body is just waaay more beautiful! Othwerwise, great improvement on the faces compared to the previous sketch :D
