Trumpet and piano, which I can play to some extent. And also sax, which I can play to a much greater extent.

I need to make a book, and call it 'How To Know You're In Band 101'. Alternately known as, Jazz Band Be like ---. Because my jazz band is way more interesting than regular band, perhaps because it meets at 6:15 in the morning and everyone is only half awake and super sleep deprived to start with, because, you know, high school.

Haha, the memes we have in orchestra though.... We're like, "Yeah remember the time we lost the cellist in the bathroom at Taco Bell on the field trip to that university stage that was supposed to be amazing but the acoustics actually sucked,"

Clarification: Band and Orchestra are NOT the same thing! Although combined they are sometimes called 'full orchestra' and various other things, orchestra is usually string instruments and some percussion, while band is woodwinds, brass, and percussion if I'm not mistaken (can any bandies confirm this?). As an orchy nerd, people ask if I'm in the band a lot... Don't, we would stab you with our bows but we care too much about our bows to do that.
Ta-da. Anything you'd like to add?

Likewise, bandies often seem to get offended if you assume we're in orchestra. Not as common as orchs being confused for bandies, but I've seen it happen.
And how did you loose the cellist in a Taco Bell?

Well, it's a long story *ahem* so we were on an orchestra-related field trip, and we stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. Anyways, we're having fun looking like we just went to a funeral in our concert clothes, when this tattooed guy with gold chains and stuff comes in. Also, it's worth noting that this wasn't the best part of town (but it wasn't like, the hood or anything). So we don't really care much about the tattoo guy because, well, it's not like he committed a crime or anything, best not to judge. Then on the way out, he asks us, "Why are you guys all dressed up? What school do you go to?" And then our wonderfully charismatic now first chair cellist (let's call him Bob), tells him. We freak out, being the immature juniors that we are, and leave. Bob went to the bathroom, but we booked it outta there.
Minutes pass and Bob isn't back, we're all freaking out over othing but everyone is too scared to go back, then ten minutes after we are supposed to leave, Bob comes back and everyone screams at him, so... We had fun that day, playing on a stage that world class violinists had performed on, but the acoustics were horrible and the sound didn't travel at all, so that was wonderful.
Also, do band people call themselves bandians? At least, that's what the bandies I know call themselves. And, you are in band, right? I saw that somewhere
