I had no idea you were having a problem with this. And I had no idea that this Pet Releasing was a "thing" for the Lost Grove. I only got to the Lost Grove a few days ago myself.
Who has been doing this to you? Can you post the name so I can be on the look out?

I don't even know what the Lost Grove is, honestly. I'm still trying to beat the undead general guy. I can't think of his name right now lol but yeah, two people came and bought all of the pets I had had for sale and released all of them. I still don't fully understand the purpose of releasing pets. I'm an animal lover and had even worked at a vet clinic, so releasing a pet seems wrong to me, even if this is just a game with virtual pets. I can send you a PM of their user names. I don't want to put them out publicly so random people don't go after them. I had tried to message one and the person was utterly rude.

The Lost Grove is the current last area in the storyline. It has newer and different coding than the rest of the fighting areas that allows Krin to add more content to it. To my understanding he intends to update the rest of the storyline with the new LG coding eventually but I think that's still a ways off.

One of those new contents I mentioned is a bonus to those who release pets. For every pet over 42 days that you release you receive a small bonus to your chance of finding an egg in the Lost Grove. Eggs are very rare and have a chance of containing an LG themed pet. Also very rare. The releasing bonus was implemented partly to help the Sylestian economy. At one point there was a large number of pets for sale for single and double digit gold that nobody wanted and nobody would buy. They sat for sale for years never selling and it was honestly pretty sad. Now, many players will buy up the cheap pets and release them just to get that bonus. The releasing mechanic helps players at least get a little for their pets should they ever try to sell. No more sitting on the broker for years at a time.

I understand being an animal lover, but there's really nothing cruel about releasing a pet. The pet still exists on the site and you can unrelease them at any time (for a cost of course).
