"The puppeteers of the Hard Frost, the Fifth House is easily the most corrupt of the Highest Houses. They tap wells of ancient magic to achieve their own ends. The act of doing this leaves its mark - like disease rots the flower from within, members of the Fifth House quickly lose their minds to the dark that they consort with. They use their magic to enslave others and curse the Land of Hard Frost with perpetual darkness as per orders from ancient Kings and Queens."

When confronted by a higher-up, they'll assume a tone of the sweetest obedience, and positively gush loyalty to the throne. "Being so regrettably aligned with water, the Eighth House suffered heavily when the Fifth House cursed the land centuries ago. Dark, wicked, ancient power caused the water on their bodies to immediately freeze over, with the unfortunate side effect of storing some of that same power in the previously liquid aspects of the House. This property is favored by the Fifth House. In actuality, the Eighth house is only nobility by title - members are used in ritualistic sacrifices to release their stored power and fuel the Fifth House's plans."
