Kyokai: "Well, I absolute love foxes (insanely so)."
My sibling!!!
Ahem. Just really wanted to comment on the male's new expression. Wonderful, simply wonderful.
Also, to those who have commented on the Hatchling male's muzzle, I think this is one of those features that just is never going to look right, to anyone who isn't a trained artist, until the shading is in. I own a dog who resembles, not a fox, but a Zolnixi, to a rather remarkable degree, especially in the face and head. (She is part coyote.) I've been giving her lots of attention as I get her to pose and turn this way and that, to see how the poses and angles would work on a living animal. (Very cooperative dog.) She has faint stripes on her muzzle. When she poses somewhat like the male Hatchling, the stripes practically turn into dots. My mind interprets this as "Holly is looking straight toward me," because I know she has stripes. If I didn't, and just saw a snapshot of her, I would think her face looked rather strange and/or that she had a short, blunt muzzle.
I hope that made sense. Basically, just sayin' that the young male's muzzle will look just right once he's shaded.
Oh and to chime in with my opinion on sexual dimorphism.
Either, Sylesti in general are based on real biology, in which case anything from "can't tell the sexes apart without a close physical examination" to "professional biologists initially thought they were two different species" is possible.
Or, Sylesti in general are not based on real biology, in which case the important thing is, "Do they look good? Are they appealing?"

Ah, I'm really happy the zolnixi is getting updated. My starter is a zolnixi and seeing the other update art made me hope they'd get updated too! Really happy to see it.

Oh, I love the newest head tweak on the male! They are so lovely, I can't wait for the revamp! Nixis have been a favorite but I always thought they needed some detailing, and this is perfect!

Curious, will the Zolnixis be getting a re-generation feature as well after revamp? (or is it not as extreme, so there won't be one?)

The new head tweak of the adult male is absolutely perfect Fai. Well done! I'm so excited for the revamp to be ready!
After seeing the Vorpa revamp and regeneration and how well it went for me I'm bouncing outta my seat with excitement for the Nixi revamp since they're one of my favorite pets.
