Honestly, I'm not sure how much I negative could say about this one, it's so pretty
But since when I hear the word critique my brain goes to 'do that thing that you did for every one of your projects in art class through all of high school and explain why it's good' that's what I'm gonna do.
The darker smoke and markings give it such a melancholy feel(and I just realized that you already said that, so I can safely say you achieved that effect), which perfectly fits the song; the brighter orange on the head(which is probably the same as the body, but the darker greys give the impression of darker and brighter orange, that's some color theory for you friends) gives almost a sense of...hope maybe? Something positive, which also fits the song(or at least, as I'm hearing it) and fits the image of a sunset, with the brighter color around the hot white/orange/yellow ball that slowly fades into darker oranges and eventually into greys and the promise of blacks.
The colors blend together seamlessly, and the flower mutation is a perfect fit, I'm not completely sure why, but I can't think of another trait that would fit this theme/song better; maybe it's because whenever I think of driving I always think trees going by; where I live is pretty much surrounded by forests and nature and really big hills we like to call mountains, and which might actually be mountains, depending on who you ask, which are also covered in trees. So perhaps I'm biased on that one.
All in all, it's beautiful and I love it.

Mhm also forgot to mention the body is darker because it has the gene galaxy which adds a darker overlay, though I believe I actually gave it a yellowy tint to i may be wrong and it is just color theory *darts into generator to check*
