If by theme, you mean for the festivals' themed pet design contests, then no. It's just loosely based off of pine trees in winter, in general.

Well looking at the design I think its solid, i would suggest changing some colors around in the orb to a bright blue perhaps, the yellow and blue blend into a gray color currently

Right, heres a small.. challenge?
If you could only change one(maybe two, but one preferred) colour to improve this, what would you do?

Well with your design I would work some browns and deep greens in, looking at winter pines they have less of that blue and more earthy greens and browns

Of course some blues are always welcome but having more variation between the colors will help

Now to start lets look at the main body color:

The first thing I could suggest is changing the main body color to one of those deep greens, doing this allows you to build the design from dark > light instead of light > dark, which is usually more appealing to the eyes as it seems more natural. If you go with this I would also lighten the eyes and make the c2 a good bit brighter.

Now with your g1 I would change the color from a gray-blue to either: a dark green, a light green, or a brown color.

I could also suggest the back stripes trait

Now with your royalty I would make it a white-blue, instead of the oceany blue you have currently. But if you do this I would change the c3 to a dark green, it blends better with a pale color

Now your g3 looks good, all I could suggest is a possible trait change

Perhaps frost runes

Tri tails is looking good :)

Now with your body colors being mainly light you need your mutations to be dark, which allows for a balance between the two, a dark green in the m2 looks nice

Now as with the m2 I would suggest making the m3 a dark green color:
