Your party gets out of there, running back the way you and Spork just came. The sounds of your pursuers die down as the heavily-laden orcs and goblins can't keep up.
The group slows down from an all-out sprint, but still keeps on moving - no-one wants to get recaptured tonight. You're still some way from the entrance to the Phoenix Pass.
"Okay..." Balthur sighs, only slightly out of breath. "Nicote... thank you. Now I owe you my life twice over." He laughs, "that's quite a debt to pay off."

(Oof that's a chunky bit of backstory. Give me a minute, I've skimmed over it and have a couple of points to clarify...
Ehh... I've mostly avoided giving NPCs familiars. So even though I suppose he can, he probably wont
And uh... oopsie, I meant the dwarf snow-clearers are camped up ahead, not the orcs. You've not found where they've camped yet. Do you want to change your reply, or..?)

"Don't see how that's a problem." NIcote half-jokes. He's still not questioning how Balthur figured out his name but oh well too late now. "So, where to now? i mean once we get out of here? I'm assuming you're planning on sticking around, unless you have other plans, Spork?"

(Yes please and sorry Ive been really busy)
Asteria looks at the group, *Can you help find the snow clearers camp we need to let them know we are here to help.*
(Noice, thanks c: Lemme add a timestamp from now on, probably make my life a lot easier)
Evening

If she is, she's hiding it well.
She smiles, pointing. "Up the stairs, second door. You'll enjoy your stay here! The Topsy Turnip has the most comfortable beds in all of the Crossroads. Come and see me if you need anything."
She hurries off to go and attend to her patrons. Skywhisper heaves a sigh, then looks up at you. "Okay... what now?"
"Well, I guess we can just... go to the room." I lead the way up to the room Rhythia pointed out to us, hoping she's right about the beds being comfortable. "I do hope this room has a lock. If not, well, it's not exactly the safest place ever."
"Whoever he is, he's crazy. Probably invented the story up to sound more interesting - either way, from now on can we please never invite someone to our party who stole our stuff?"
It's the afternoon by the time you can both see the Crossroads on the horizon. Brazentalons lands on the outskirts, sinking gracelessly to the ground in exhaustion from the flight.
I thought about teasing Brazentalons and joke that I would continue inviting thieves, but he seemed too tired to be in the mood. "You hungry?" I ask and pull out some feed. "Wanna take a rest for the day?"

(Ehh... oops? Oh well, Balthur has psychic powers now I suppose xD)
"Uhh..." Spork scratches his head. "Well, I don't have anywhere to go. No home."
Balthur laughs at that. "Then you're in the same boat as the rest of us."
Spork looks at you. "I can stay, then?"

(No worries)
Night
--
Your party cautiously approaches the snow-clearers camp up ahead. When you near, a watchman cries out a warning to the rest of the dwarves. Immediately the whole camp jumps up, grabbing weapons and turning to face you.
"Hold on!" one of them shouts. "These aren't orcs." This doesn't seem to calm the camp much, however. The same dwarf wanders closer, stopping a few metres from your group. "Who goes there?" he barks.

"Maybe Rythia has a scary enough reputation they don't dare rob from her," Skywhisper hazards a guess. "After seeing her effortlessly deal with those outrageously heavy seedbags, I know I wouldn't."
You head up to the room. There is a lock, and your griffin finds a key underneath the, unsurprisingly enough, flowery doormat. In fact, everything about the room is decorated with flowers. The blanket on the bed has flowers on it, the curtains have flowers on them - there's even a flowerpot stuffed so full that the cacaphony of colours is difficult to look at.
"This is the best inn ever," Skywhisper declares. He turns to you. "Remember we need to return Bob's barrow though."
