At this point, he probably just wouldn't have enough breath to argue against it anyway.

"Nah, give me a minute..." he wheezes. "I ate this morning."

He takes a little while before sitting up, taking a moment to preen his feathers after asking: "What now?"

(I just read back to page 97 literally only to find the name of Balthur's sister, and rediscovered that Knight had a plushie. I wonder sometimes xD)

Spork grins broadly, thumping his chest. "I not let you down. You all my new clan, now."

Balthur takes a cautious look around him. "It's definitely good to have numbers when we're so deep in the southern territories," he says, giving a weak smile to Spork - it's not that convincing. "As to where we're going... I need to get back to Malindi to make sure those barbarians haven't done something to her. Has anyone else got any other places they need to go?"

Knight hugs his comically small dragon plushie to himself, walking closer by your side. "We've got to talk, but not in front of him," he whispers, gesturing to Spork.

"Yeah sure. When we stop or something." Nicote nods. Hes weirdly happy to see that Knight has....somehow kept his llushie? Howd he manage that?

...best not to ask probably.

"No set destination for me. Though honestly i should probably get more supplies. Or maybe something for the family, my brother probably wont care but the folks might." He chuckled dryly. "Pick up an odd job or two for some gold too. Not exactly rich right now."

Your party cautiously approaches the snow-clearers camp up ahead. When you near, a watchman cries out a warning to the rest of the dwarves. Immediately the whole camp jumps up, grabbing weapons and turning to face you.

"Hold on!" one of them shouts. "These aren't orcs." This doesn't seem to calm the camp much, however. The same dwarf wanders closer, stopping a few metres from your group. "Who goes there?" he barks.


*Asteria, Elven Ranger of company 512 with a friend and a couple of fierce of fierce familiars. We got your message for help but Im afraid your messenger didnt get as far as you hoped. We were nearby when we found the message,* Asteria holds out the dwarfs call for help message.

That seems to reassure Knight. From how tightly he's hugging the toy, no doubt there would have been blood shed if anyone had tried to take it from him.

"Yes... that lot destroyed my cart and stole my goods. I'll need to sort that out; try to reassure my customers," Balthur muses. He turns to you. "So we're fine with going back to the Adventurer's Crossroads then? You can get supplies, jobs and someone to take a message to your family if you like."

His eyes narrow as he notices Numbat. "You'll respect the fact that we're not entirely friendly towards goblins right now, Asteria," he says with a frown. But he moves forward to take the message. "So you decided to take our message back to us, rather than deliver it to where we needed it to go?" His face turns furious. "Do you realise that this message was our last hope? Now we'll never get help from Vanguard in time!"

You can see from the desperation on the faces of the dwarves around him that they are running out of options. "Is your company here protect us?" a woman near the front cries out, panic in her eyes.

*The only reason why I brought the message with me is because we cant get it to others right now because they are too far away,* She tries to explain, *Yes we are here to help you. I understand your anger and frustration trust me on that but Numbat, Crimson, Emberpaw, and myself are here to help like it or not.*
She tries to reason with them hoping that they might get over their anger and work together.

He exhales, taking a moment to calm himself. "Just the four of you..? You'd better be good 'cause, like it or not, you're our last hope now."

He doesn't look happy, but it's obvious he doesn't have any other choice. "Name's Daavun. I'm the new spokesman of our clan since our last was killed. What do you need?"

(At least this is an opportunity to get experience xDD)
