It's been a long time since you were last here without being on some errand or another, a young goblin growing up under the watchful eyes of your kin. Boulder toils all around you, filled with noise and commotion and the customary undertones of Mount Hott rumbling eerily beneath your feet.
Standing in the middle of a crowded market square, your freedom awaits you. What now?

What Pike wants to do is to be everywhere all at once. He wants to escape away from the rocky land he knows and explore other places. However, its a big world and he has a lot of ground to cover if he wishes to see it all. Pike takes a peek at what he has. He has some food, a weapon, and a few tools. Surely he has enough to last until he is out of Boulder - perhaps all the way to the Central Territories, where he can hopefully restock if he needs anything and figure out where he wants to go from there.
He pauses and looks around at the bustling market around him. Perhaps having some money would be a smart way to start out the adventure.
Pike decides to see if there is anything he can do - something that would allow him to be on his merry way sooner rather than later - for some quick coin.

(Well done for getting finished so quickly. No worries, I should be able to manage from here)
Night

"Havdur would have made a good ranger if he had the courage. It's a sound guess that they would be after raw materials for tools of war. It's also possible that they found an undiscovered gold deposit. Either way, they are stealing our resources and have to be stopped," Aegis concludes.
You return to the camp just as the last of the traps are being put in place. Aegis' mercenary partner guides you past them while giving you a chance to see the work. Tripwires and snare traps lead on to deep pits which are being disguised.
Daavun approaches you. "What do you think, Ranger?" he asks. "Up to your standards?"

"I'm impressed I thought the traps would take longer to make," Asteria replies, "I trust they've been tested already. Daavun, Aegis, I'm sorry I never got your name Aegi's partner, we should be ready in case something goes wrong. I know you don't have many weapons here but you do have tools right or anything that could be turned into makeshift weapons? Could we talk in private I have an idea but I want to run it by you three before anyone else hears about it?" Asteria looks around for Crimson slightly worried about not seeing her for a bit.
(You're welcome. Also my replies might be slower from here on out fair warn.)

Balthur squares his shoulders, trying to look tough. He doesn't quite manage it.
A goblin is pushed forward by the others in his group. He gulps and timidly creeps up to the massive orc. "Uh, Chief, I... we were supposed to give you a message to look for an elf... uh, a message f-from Feral Felicia when she passed through-"
The chieftain whips round in a sudden rage. He effortlessly picks up the goblin by his shirt and growls: "If anyone hears you calling her that again, you'll get the lot of us killed, y'hear me?"
As the goblin is stammering his apologies Balthur leans forward. "That's her!" he hisses. "The elf conspirator - this can't be good, we're going to get caught."

The food you have just now will last you around a week, which would be enough to reach the Central Territories if you head straight there. But who knows what could happen on the road?
They do say money makes the world go round - and there are always plenty of jobs going. As you watch gold coins are exchanged for goods between customers and traders. A squabble breaks out over on the other side of the market as two orcs argue over the same item, much to its merchant's distress.
One wall which borders the square is dominated by notes and ragged posters declaring jobs to be had and displaying important notices. Various goblins and orcs pick over some of the papers, probably looking for the same quick jobs as you.
Otherwise, Boulder is a big city with a large population. Various streets lead off of the market square and onto other parts of the capital, if you wanted to wander and find work out there.

Nicote tilts his head in acknowledgement of Balthur's observation. "I got this...probably." He mutters back. Speaking up, he asks, "Felicia? I've heard of her." Even though he hasn't. Oh well, time to fib and hope there's no such thing s a lie limit! And he technically isn't lying, he has heard of Felicia.....from his groupmates.
(Hahaha, doomed before you'd even gotten started. If I could draw to save myself, I'd have that scene up on the front page of CK as an example of what not to do, lmao)
Evening
--
Skywhisper nods and butts into your side, looking like he appreciates your concern. "Okay. I'll be fine - I'll stay away from the dodgy looking streets and keep an eye out. I'll be so fast you'll never know I was gone."
He trots from the room with one last look over his shoulder and a wave of his talons. As he passes over the floorboards, one of them creaks loudly. He doesn't pay it any mind.
In fact, that floorboard looks slightly off, like it isn't in line with the others...
(Lol, that would be amazing though)
I lift my hand to wave back at him, but the creak of the floorboards draws my attention. That's strange, the rest of the floor seemed to be in good shape-- or, at least, I didn't notice any creaky floors earlier. Then again, I'd kind of been taking the good floor for granted.
Half-interested and with nothing to do anyways until Skywhisper returns, I poke the edge of the creaky floorboard with my foot, wiggling it up and down before attempting to pry it up with my fingers.

(Alrighty, no worries.
Also another way to get your character back to full health, at least in the case of exhaustion, would be to eat more foodstuffs)
Dawn
--
"We are dwarves after all," Daavun puffs out his chest proudly before adding, "...and we have been working all night."
"Murva," Aegis' partner supplies curtly.
You can't see Crimson or Emberpaw from here. The camp is busy, with dwarves carrying supplies and materials left over from the construction back and forth. They could be shying from the activity.
Daavun raises an eyebrow at your request. "This sounds interesting - okay, follow me." He leads the group to the eastern edge of the camp, behind storage tents and a small wagon. On the way he explains: "We have pickaxes and some wood-chopping axes in our inventory, as well as shovels. They're tools, not weapons... but I suppose they could be repurposed - what do you think?"
