Rowan checked her pack, grimacing at how far her food had diminished since she had started out for the fabled dragonlands two months ago. Noting the sign for a trader, she turned her feet northward on what she was sure would not be her last exhausted trudge. Hopefully the last without a companion though. With that motivating thought she picked up her steps, mentally sorting through a list of what she would need for a long expedition.

"M'kay. I'll make sure to get some more sapphires later - that acid breath could be useful later on. How long does it last? Do we have to wait that long before he takes another gemstone?" I ask, trying to get a better picture of how I can apply these gemstones to situations later.

"Depends on the amount you give him. I gave him a pretty small dose so it should be over by now." he explains, while he looks for another one to try.

"Sounds very useful. What other kinds of stone have we got to try now?" I ask, peering over his shoulder at the various crushed, colourful remains of the gemstones. Maybe there's some that could help Branch form the wind dragon's nest at our tree.

I take it, turning it round to admire it. "Here goes," I say, holding it palm up to Branch with a faint smile on my face.

I jump back, watching his new ability with awe. "Now that would be great for some kind of distraction. Like a smoke screen in a way. Quickly take the stone, throw up a curtain of leaves and skedaddle."

I tap my foot against the ground, a thoughtful expression on my face. "What was the name of that stone again?" I ask.
