cheeps softly. "It's not like we're really fighting them anymore... look how few of us are left. The Vorkids are taking over..." The little Nyte cheers up, though, as she leads Jungle to another area that holds warmth and a glimpse into the world above. "This is where we sometimes go if we want to feel the sun, or if we just want to see the outside. It can get... kind of dark down here."

flies up the broken staircase and is confronted with a long hallway. The hallway is lined with missing paintings or portraits - hard to say which. There is no furniture, and no doors. Another staircase is at the end of the hallway.

Dark Secret gets up and stretches.

Cherry Blossom thinks. "What's a feather of trust?"


"I'm sorry I asked that question. " Jungle says, following the Nytekrie. "I never asked, what's your name?"

Skyrose goes up the staircase.

chitter amongst themselves excitedly. "It's a feather from the Queen Nyte. She only gives them out to those she trusts," the boy Bulbori answers after bouncing around and hopping up to the door to get a good look at Cherry Blossom. "Say... you're not around here, are you...?"

"My name? What's your name?" The little Nyte trawls across the ceiling to the last spot of the tour, showing Jungle the inside of a big crystal. "We opened one up... and it took a lot of work. Isn't it cool, though? The big Nytes say that we shouldn't play around here, but it's so interesting," she says while pointing to the gem embedded into the heart of the crystal. Weird, it kind of reminds Jungle of... an eggling.

reaches the inside of a tower, complete with a spinning wheel. The wheel creaks as it turns, as though from a stray breeze. The window is open. There is an unmade bed, with a pillow thrown askew. The room is in fair condition, except for the half a portrait on the wall.

Dark Secret gets up, she then walks off, saying final thank-yous to Mint and Death.

"No, I'm not, and, can you tell me where I can find the Queen Nyte?"

"Are you sure that gem isn't an egg?" Jungle asks. "By the way, my name's Jungle."

Skyrose checks under the bed.

nod a farewell to Dark Secret.

both jabber at once, making for a hard-to-understand influx of words. But then the girl Bulbori solemnly starts to recite some kind of wordless song, something heart-achingly somber. The boy Bulbori then explains afterward, "You can't find her... she finds you."

giggles. "That's not what our eggs look like, we keep our eggs safe and sound. But nice to meet ya, Jungle, my name is Piru," the Nyte answers with a cheep.

is pretty sure the eggling is... a griffi eggling.

finds a key! There is a note attached, but it is largely unreadable.

Dark Secret heads off

"So it would be easier to bring a dead Vorkid?" Cherry Blossom asks

"It might not be your egg, but it definetyly is one." Jungle says. "What if all the crystals have eggs inside?" Jungle asks.

Skyrose takes the key, and goes back to Murk. "I found it."

is in the Dark Zone. The thorn-trees in this area have very tough bark. Further south is a dark and putrid stream that fogs, bubbles, and faintly glowing foam. There is a cavernous system to the West. This zone does not seem safe...

both answer together: "Not unless you have rope!"

thinks about it. "That... would be a lot of eggs. I wonder why anybody would do such a thing..."

grins. "By all means, the chest is yours. Go ahead."

sees that the shiny locked chest is where they had last left it.

Dark Secret goes towards the caves.

"Where can I find rope?" Cherry Blossom asked.

"Would... Vorkid be able to do it? Maybe the eggs belonged to something very... Fierce that the Vorkids hated. So they imprisoned the eggs so they'd never hatch." Jungle says. Jungle takes the egg out of the center. "Do you have a nest I could borrow?" Jungle asks.

Skyrose fits the key in.

goes towards a random cave, and finds one with an immediate split between two paths. She can find another cave or decide on which path to take.

hop up to the door, whispering. "<sub>You should try growing some, it might be easier than finding it."

doesn't look very happy at the thought. "The Vorkids...? No way... if they could do that...." The little Nyte puzzles over it some more before answering Jungle's second question. "Yeah, we have a few open nests. Come on, let's go back to the roost area." Piru flutters back to the roost area and leads Jungle to an empty nest.

notices that the eggling is dull. Also that the empty nest could use some repairs.

opens the shiny chest and receives the following:
