Hey hey Larkien,
You talking to me or to Nyx?
I couldn't tell^^
And I'm sure your brain isn't void of tangibleness. When I feel like it's empty up there, I just precipitate ideas out of the gray matter^^
How, you ask? I stare at trees. I don't know why that works, but it does.

It's always hard to sneak stuff around mothers!
This isn't exactly a 'story' exactly, but it's a bit of the roleplay Constantine and Sanyi are from, if knowing a bit of their personalities might help. There are a bunch of other characters mentioned, but don't worry about them.
Constantine held out a hand to Melisande, and was hardly surprised when she swatted it away.
I can walk on my own, Con, she teased. Just cause Im blind doesnt mean I cant tell where Im going.
Ill laugh when you trip over something, then, he shot back.
Ten dollars says I wont.
Con pulled a wrinkled ten out of his pocket. Youre on.
Melisande made a grab at the money, but missed by nearly a foot, misjudging where he held it.
He laughed. Missed.
She glared at him. Even without being able to see, she could pull that off really well. Thanks, Captain Obvious.
Youre welcome.
Youre impossible.
Constantine gave her a mock bow. Thats what Xystos says, too.
Mel drew in a deep breath, grinning. Your boyfriend?
Con swatted her arm. He is not.
Mel danced backward, out of striking range. She knew who Xystos was, of course, and used every opportunity she got to tease Constantine. Cons got a boyfriend, Cons got a boyfriend! she sang. Then she froze, tilting her head to the side.
Do you hear that?
Hear what? came Cons voice from somewhere off to her left.
That buzzing humming.
Constantine frowned. But then he heard it too, a faint, low humming filling the air around them.
Ah, yes, he said. That means its almost time.
He took Mel by the shoulders and angled her toward the bright spark that had just appeared, floating in midair. It expanded, forming an oval-shaped rip in the air, through which a ruined castle was visible, rippling as though viewed through water.
Ready? he asked. She nodded, and he gave her a slight push toward the portal. Just move through. Youll want to stay, but dont.
Mel entered the gap quickly. Probably so she wouldn't second-guess herself, after hearing Con's story about how it took him fifteen minutes to work up the nerve to walk through his first year. She vanished through the gap between the two places. Con couldnt see her on the other side, but knew she had made it.
Con steadied himself and stepped through himself. As always, the portal was shockingly cold. Passing through was strange. It felt as though a bucket of icy water had just been dumped over him, even though he was perfectly dry. The darkness warped and stretched around him. He stood in the middle of a long tunnel, the castle on one side and where he had been waiting on the other. Fragments of a slow, lilting song in a strange language drifted out of the shadows, and images flashed around him, too fast to make out clearly.
He longed to stay and study the portal longer, as he always did, but it wasnt wise to linger overlong in the Between. Frost was already beginning to form in his hair and turn his fingertips blue, thought the physical was far from the most danger here. He took a step toward the castle, and even though it looked several dozen feet away, he fell through as though it was right in front of him.
He stood on the cracked flagstones of a mostly empty courtyard. Melisande stood in front of him, perfectly still. A girl with black skin scattered with stars and white hair, with curving pearly silver horns - a Silver year named Aalie Ayki'iata - was talking with Cons friend Tsarra Nythrykh. A young boy he didnt know personally but knew to be a Copper stood on his own in the shadows.
Xystos Sanyi wasnt there yet, unfortunately. But storms, it was good to be back. Even the sunlight felt different and the air tasted sweeter here.
Constantine couldnt resist grinning. Quite the place, isnt it? he asked Mel. She smiled.
"Indeed," Mel replied. "Where's Xystos?"
"Sanyi isn't here yet," Con replied. "But I'll introduce you as soon as he shows up."
"Sanyi?" she asked.
"His middle name. Xystos Sanyi Xenagoris."
A portal flashed across the courtyard and the shapeshifter girl Creelisel Evanor stepped through. She wore a form with dark skin and braided red-black hair today, looking completely different than she had at the end of last year with her long blonde hair. Con couldn't explain how he knew it was her - he could always tell Creel apart from someone else even if they looked exactly the same. It was the same with identical twins - it was impossible to confuse him.
Where was Sanyi?
Do not worry, he will be here soon, said a voice in his head.
I'm not worrying, Con thought.
Mm. He likes you, you know.
I actually did know that, thanks.
And you like him?
Shut up.
Laughter.
Con glanced around until his gaze landed on Aalie. She grinned at him, still laughing. Even her teeth were black, and formed sharp points and two inch-long fangs.
Aalie was a Dreamwalker - she could visit other people's minds and speak in them, sending thoughts and pictures. She could also use her magic to control someone's mind and force them to do what she wanted, but Aalie always respected privacy and never went into someone's mind without permission, and even then she didn't poke around.
She was the voice in his head, of course.
"Mel, come meet Aalie," he suggested, touching her shoulder to let her know where he was. Melisande followed him over to the Dreamwalker girl.
"Aalie," he greeted her. "Mytha sha rhinor Aky'lin."
"Mytha nionthen, Constantine. Your accent is getting better."
"I've been practicing."
With Leigh?
Leighs the only one of you who lives close enough for me to easily visit outside of school.
Melisande tapped Cons shoulder. Care to introduce me?
Constantine coughed. Sorry. Aalie, this is my younger sister, Melisande. Mel, this is Aalie Te Nitsawair Ayki'iata.
She raised her eyebrows. And I thought Sanyis name was weird.
Ay-lee Te Nit-say-wire Ack-ih-tea, Aalie said slowly for Mel. Aalie is my given name, obviously. Nitsawair it my house name - Te Nitsawair means Of House Nitsa, Wair translating roughly to House, though there isnt a more accurate term in this language. Ayki is my fathers name, since our lineage is traced through the males in Nitsawair. The iata suffix simply means Im a girl, or a daughter of Ayk. If I were a boy, it would be taen. So My full name means Aalie of House Nitsa, daughter of Ayki.
Mel nodded, but she looked even more confused by Aalies explanation.
Aalie is a Silver, but she hangs out with me, Tsarra, and Sanyi a lot, so youll see her pretty often. Ill leave you two to get acquainted while I go greet some others? Constantine asked interjected to help spare Melisande.
He left before she could argue, stopping briefly to say hello to Creelisel and another Gold named Faylin. But he was looking for Sanyi the whole time.
Finally, one of the portals opened, and a familiar dragonkin boy stepped out. He casually looked around, his face not a bit bored, fanning his wings.
They spotted each other at the same moment, Constantine and Sanyi.
The Dragonkin was clearly recognizable, even from across the courtyard. Like Aalie, he had black skin, but there was no way he could be mistaken for her, with his wings, and his graceful beauty, a different sort than Aalies.
It was an effort not to run as he strode across the courtyard toward Sanyi.
He stopped before the other boy, looked him up and down, and said, Youre late.
He tried to keep his face blank, nearly failing. It took about ten seconds before a grin broke though his indifferent mask and he stepped forward, hugging Sanyi tightly.
I missed you.
Sanyi hugged Con back.
It was only a summer, he snorted, though his unspoken words said, I missed you too.
He stepped back and examined Con. Same neat black hair and shocking eyes, still stood a few inches shorter.
Anything eventful? he drawled, or was it all boring without me?
Oh, dreadfully boring, he responded, stepping back but still not letting go of Sanyi.
I couldnt wait to get back the entire time. But then, I didnt want to go, because it would be my last time, and I dont want to leave for good.
He rested his head against Sanyis chest. That was good - the Dragonkin boy was always warm, even more than an average person, because of the fire burning within him.
But lets not get all grey and depressing before schools even started, shall we? I mean, my sister started this year and nothing could possibly get boring with her around. I swear she never gets tired, shes constantly a bright ball of energy. I have no clue how she manages it.
Constantine chuckled. Youll love her. He smirked. Not as much as you do me, though. Just dont believe her when she comes to you asking for you to write out all her homework for her just because she cant see it. Shes perfectly capable of doing it herself. And her handwriting is even neater than mine, somehow, he added ruefully.
Sanyi chuckled. She sounds wonderful, especially as for four years Ive heard so much about her, she could be a tiny little deity for all I know!
He looked down at Con, a lazy grin laying across his face, his eyes meeting those electrifying bright blue ones.
I hope youre ready to make this last year a fun one!
I heard this one thing about getting the numbers one, two, and four, and tying them to dragon hatchlings and letting them loose, Con mused. Itll drive everyone crazy searching for the dragon wearing the sign with the number three.

My laptop apparently doesn't agree with copy-and-pasting from docs, so has decided to remove all my quotation marks and apostrophes. My grammar isn't actually that bad, I promise.

I was talking to Nyx, that's why I didn't ping you :P
Trees... I'll try that sometime. After all, I near a city we call the 'City of Trees'.
*gasp* But... but... that was amazing!!
You should definitely publish something.
Yea, the apostrophes from Google Docs are not valid characters in Sylestia, so they delete them.
The few things I ever dumped into reality are over here I think.

Hey, I read the 'story' :D
I picked up a few things.
Like, Creelisel, isn't that the heroine's name in Dragon Slippers?
And the Between, and it being extremely cold, that's from Dragonriders of Pern, eh?
There might be more, but I haven't read a lot^^ (you might notice I read things with dragon in the title. Heheh. I'm so predictable)
I think I've got a clearer idea of their personalities, so thanks! I really hope I can depict them correctly, I know if someone were drawing my OCs, I'd want them to be accurate :D
Haha, I was wondering why sometimes there was quotation marks and then sometimes not.
My greatest peeve is bad grammar, since I literally can't read without it haha. I'm dyslexic, so reading is hard for me anyway.
But I got a good idea of the story without the fancyness, so no worries :D
The apostrophe void was killing me, though, gotta be honest.

Aw, thanks! I have a few things published on my Quotev account (as I'm not a huge fan of Wattpad), but I don't like publishing chapter-by-chapter because I might sit down and write three at once, then go back and realize I don't like the first one at all and decide not to publish it until I can re-write it.
But I've never tried the trees thing... I'll have to do that, when it gets warmer out.

I was confused because I couldn't see who you pinged. So does Sylestia not show you everyone people ping?? I thought they did, or did you just not ping anyone?
Looket me, I've been on this game for 5 years and I still act like a noob sometimes^^
Sorry for the confusion!

Yes, I'm a huge reader, and I like to dump fandom references into things I write, and see who gets them. Creel is from DS, and the Between is from Pern. You're the first to get either of those, actually, even with 6 of us reading it.
Because dragons are awesome! I'll go dig through my drawing notebooks and see if I can find any half-decent dragon drawings to share.
Con's sister is named Melisande, and at one point she introduces herself saying, "Melisande. You don't have to worry about me trying to burn you alive, though. There's no 'R' in my name."

Yeah, you can only see who you ping, and that you have been pinged. No one else.
I only pinged MistressNyx :P

I love to read too! Though I don't do it as often as I'd like^^
Dumb dyslexia.
I refute that. I love ya, Dys. You give me a 3D brain, but really, you're a pain sometimes....
*cough cough* sorry about that. I do not talk to myself at all. Never.
I love adding little nuggets in my writing. Generally I discreetly steal from others though, by which I mean I take their ideas indiscriminately and then warp them so much people will assume it's original^^ I mean, I guess if I warp it enough it becomes so? The idea of mutation at its finest, right here :DDD
I love love love dragons! Though I get upset when people call a wyvern a dragon. There are a lot of wyverns out there masquerading as dragons. They're fakes people! Get your mythology right, goodness.
I actually started drawing on dragons. They were the spark that made all of my other crazy ideas come to life. I draw/ write more about humans/anthros now, but dragons will forever be in my soul.
I was burned a bit by them I think, and now I'll always be partial to 'em.
Heheh, Melisande....
