Spork growls. "If you not back by nightfall, I come looking for you."
Balthur and Knight nod in agreement. "I'll settle your affairs, Nicote," Balthur promises, face calculating. "It's the least I can do for you after all you've done for me."
The elf approached you, motioning for you to walk by his side. "Come. I will bring you to the Elven embassy where you are to be questioned." With an intrigued look, he adds: "As we walk, I would like you to explain to me who this person is you claim is more important here."
Nicote nods at his party, before bidding them goodbye. He starts talking as he and the other elf walk. "When we were trying to get through the border after escaping that clan that kidnapped us, we heard news about an elf named Felicia. Apparently she's working with the guys after us and I highly suspect she has something to do with my group being targeted- at the time I was here at the Crossroads last, both Newt and I were here at the same time and I hadn't been able to recolor my hair to differentiate us. Knowing Newt and his habit of sneaking around, trying to blend in wouldn't be out of the question and upon see me I'm guessing they thought I was him or something. Either that or they think I'm some key to getting hold of Newt or I know government affairs or something." He grimly chuckles at that idea. "Like they'd want the most disappointing elf back, I can count on my fingers exactly how many elves would immediately jump to my defense."

Maybe he is scared more by what the orcs will do if you can't stop them than punishment for fraud.
At your exclamation, the orc who was about to get hit jumps and spins around, appearing startled to find you standing there right behind her. Charisma just successful. The other pauses, frowning as if she wonders why the argument has suddenly stopped.
The first orc looks just as angry as you'd expect. She points a finger at you. "What're you getting involved for, squirt? I didn't see any other cloth merchants here."
She looms over you... and then a voice cuts in from the next stall over.
"It's true, ladies," says a smooth voice. You see another orc leaning casually at his stall. "Eyup here can barely compete with the trader over on the other end of the market. His bazaar has all sorts of fine linen for prices he can't compete with."
The two orc women look at one another for a second.
"Mine!" they cry simultaneously, running off in that direction.
Pike sighs with relief and backs up another step, out of the way of the excitable orc ladies. He smiles at the cloth merchant who is now relieved of two angry customers, "Have a good day and good luck with your business!"
Then, he turns his smile on the orc who had helped back him up, "Thank you for your help! It was much appreciated."
He feels the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes with solving a problem. Pike looks for the bulletin with job offers on it.
(Sorry, where was your planned destination?
I had thought you wanted to go to the Adventurer's Crossroads - which you have arrived on the outskirts of and just need to wander through the gates.

He jumps onto his feet, feathers fluffed up a little in mild offense. "I'm perfectly alright. I have a lot more energy left in me yet."
"I meant no offense," I say, not wanting him to be mad. I rub my eyes to brush off some snow and after taking another look at the horizon, it dawned on me that we were closer than I had originally thought. Striking a thinking pose did not make me smart, to my disappointment. "Y'know after we get a nice tent, maybe I could get you a present," I suggest while walking the rest of the way. I realized I hadn't gotten him a Chillfest present, which now seemed to have happened ages ago.

(...I may or may not have misguaged the distance.
Also, have you tried using Inkarnate for maps? I've used it a total of two times and it's okay. Although I could maybe make one for you, my activity took a dip cuz of school and I don't trust myself)

(Think of it as a pass running north to south. You had been following it south, but the snow-clearers aren't finished with their work down there. You can retreat back north, towards the valleys and Vanguard. There will be splits and branches in the path in both directions, but currently you're on a straight road.)

"It is for camouflage," she declares. "Camouflage because I am sick of running. I think our only option is a surprise attack on their camp, now, before they are ready to face us."
"Murva, that's ridiculous," Aegis scoffs, looking more worried than criticising. "We built all of these defences for a reason - using them and fighting here at our camp is our last option. Not attacking theirs."
She turns to you. "Waiting until their warriors are ready is a death sentence. We can't give them so long as to pursue us down the mountian passes, or to bear down on this camp. The others are too slow."

The elf's face turns stony as soon as you mention Felicia. "I see." He murmurs.
Ahead of you the form of the Elven embassy building emerges. It has always been kept in scrupulously fine condition, polished marble bricks shining brightly in comparison to the rest of the dreary looking architecture surrounding it. You can see armoured guards standing to attention by the flung-open mahogany doors, spears held high.
"Well, Nicote, it seems this really is all a misunderstanding," he finally admits. "If you explain this all to my captain, who commands all of the guards here, I see no reason why this matter cannot be resolved.
"After all, Captain Felicia is well known in the upper echelons of Elven society for being the first to act as an insider against the Orc Tribes menace. She will be understanding of this error."

For managing to negotiate a solution to a problem, you have gained +1 Charisma.
The cloth merchant smiles back thankfully.
The orc shakes his head. "No, thank you! I would never have figured out a good enough story to get shot of those madwomen. A better merchant all the way on the other side of the market? Very convenient!" he booms appreciatively.
"Oris, there is another cloth merchant over there," Eyup sighs.
"Ah," the orc, 'Oris', muses. "Even better!
"If you need anything, you just need to ask."
You find the bulletin board where a couple of others are skimming over the job offers. There seem to be a lot today. What sort of job are you looking for?

(Ha, no worries. Thanks though! this makes map-making easy. If I find time I'll try to make a proper map of Anaia, so you don't have to unless you really want to)

He settles himself and trots by your side. "I know. Sorry," he apologises. "I'm okay, is what I'm trying to say."
Chillfest is close to coming round again, so you'll have your chance. Your offer makes him look up at you with excited eyes. "Really?" he chirrups.
It doesn't take you long to reach the Eastern Gate. A couple of guards mill around and you watch as a party of entertainers enter the city ahead of you, a couple playing tuneless songs on wind instruments as they go.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Map of Anaia
Hello, adventurers!
The map of Anaia is finally here. Thanks go to Whiterosealliance for pointing me towards a handy map-building website, Inkarnate.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if I have bent several laws of fantasy world building!
"She'd better just be an insider and not an actual dealer, or I'll have a bone to pick with her." NIcote muttered. "You do not want to know how many moral codes I've been breaking trying not to die the last few days, an I don't appreciate this sudden rise in exhuasting activities like running for a whole day or playing keepaway with an angry guy and his bird, liek trying not to end up in the same place as Newt to avoid conflict isn't hard enough."
