The sad part is that thats not the first time someones said that :(
its more like I unconsciously hold my breathe when writing, playing music so whoops
Usually whenever my mom gets into yelling sprees I find hiding spaces inside or outside the house and then just become a turtle for a few hours and then sob into my pillow

Try using some toilet paper to wipe the tears away before they come out, if that makes sense. Like, instead of sniffling, try wiping your nose with toilet paper. Sorry if that sounded strange; my brain's not working properly right now.
And you aren't useless, don't let anyone convince you that you are.

Breathing is a pain
There's literally nowhere I can hide where she won't be like wtf are you doing or there isn't a risk she'll crash in out of nowhere so I just lock myself in the bathroom and pretend to be doing my business lol, lots of soft towels

I-I mean to answer your question, I do know how.... I usually just sit there and take the lecture though. I only tried to really get once, but that was a 'special' situation.

Ahhhh, I tend to climb trees and hide for 3 hours (I swear the squirrels give me strange looks and sitting on a tree branch for 3 hours is probably dangerous...
Ahhhh, licking (locking not licking) doors doesnt work at our house, because we all know how to pick it with a bobby-pins

I have returned, my fellow nerds! You may now shower me in glorious adoration!
But honestly it's good to be back. I just had to go AWOL to deal with school and life. Then the world shut down and kicked me out of school, and I had to do all that stuff (hint: I'm not good at moderating my own schoolwork). I kinda started 'returning' about a month ago, but that was only logging on for a couple minutes at a time to start missions to start getting gold again, feeding my pets, answering a few pings. But I'm happy to announce my hiatus is officially over! *claps*
Yo Lark, do I get pancakes for coming back or is that a new-member-only thing?
What have I done recently that won't bore y'all to death... I got a new saxophone? My old one was a rental and really bad, so I'm super excited about that. Though it feels totally different than my own one and I'm not sure if I like that or not. But it plays really nice!
Auditions... arugh. My HS has two band levels: Symphonic and Wind Ensemble. Wind is the higher one, and I'm hoping to audition to get in. I also know I probably won't, because there's only three alto sax spots. None of the people who are currently in it are graduating, and I know they'll all continue band next year. And they're all awesome. I mean, I'm currently Symphonic first chair by a long shot, and I still know they're all much better than I am.
To my Tolkienites out there! I've finally reached the point of becoming Silmarillion trash. It took me a while, but I've finally finished all of Quenta Silm and the previous parts, though I haven't started Alkallabeth. I've also decided that Maedhros and Maglor are the only decent Feanorians, and that it is quite possibly more dangerous to be involved with Turin than the Silmarils. Dunno, just my two cents. Anyone else read Silm?
Also I'm sort of learning Sindarin elvish? Like, not seriously, just random words and phrases. I can introduce myself, say greetings and farewells. I can also say 'argh I'm bald!' for some reason. ((Nae, ni rudh! But the u is supposed to have the little triangle accent thingy over it, Sylestia just doesn't like those.
Uhhh... What else? One of my chickens died, but it's fine cause she was the least social and most grumpy of all of them, so I can't say I miss her overly much.
And... That's it. I literally can't think of anything else to report. Adios, amigos!
