"With ONE pet species you have to make a
TRADITIONAL ROMANIAN 4-course meal"

WELCOME!

This time I would love to present you some tasty Romanian dishs!

Where its traditional cuisine is concerned, Romania has had influence from both invaders and neighbors. Romania's traditional food sees touches of Turkish, Hungarian, Austrian, Italian and other cuisines, but over the years, these dishes have become just as traditional as the oldest Romanian traditional foods.

Let yourself be surprised...

Enjoy the meal!

Appetizer

Drop

Drob is a common Easter dish and can be eaten as an appetizer, as a dish for picnic or even as a main dish. It can be compared with the Irish lamb haggis but, instead of being simmered, it is cooked in the oven. It contains a mix of pre-boiled lamb organs, onion, herbs and often whole hard-boiled eggs.

Salad

Beef salad (Salata boeuf)

Salata de boeuf (Beef Salad) is a traditional Romanian dish, generally served during all festive and special occasions. It is a combination of finely chopped beef or chicken and diced rood vegetables (potatoes, carrots, parsnips, peas), as well some pickled cucumbers and red peppers, folded in mayonnaise and finished with muraturi.

Entree

Veal stew with polenta - Mamaliga

Mamaliga is dish in Romania that often replaces bread or other grains and starches. Polenta shows up in many Romanian recipe books as a hearty and versatile side dish or as an ingredient of more elaborate dishes. Classic Romanian polenta is served with warm milk or sour cream, and often benefits from shredded telemea, feta or other cheese on top.
In this main dish it's served on top of a veal stew.

Dessert

On of my favorite confectionery:
Salam de Biscuiti

These unbaked cookies are made to look like slices of salami. The dessert is popular in Romania and elsewhere throughout Europe, especially Italy, Germany and Hungary whose cuisines have influenced Romanian food.

Essentially it is a combination of cocoa powder, butter, sugar, rum extract or other real liquor, crumbled cookies and, usually Turkish delight. The mixture is formed into a log shape, refrigerated and then sliced and served.

You should realy try them! They are delicious ~

I have to totaly agree with everyone xD
It's a fun and challenging game. I don't know how long it always takes me to research food and to find tasty looking pictures --> I love to do that and sometimes I get completely immersed in doing so xD

Ohh okay *hugs* how is your tests going?

*rehug*
Well, today I had a test in German 'general linguistics - overview' (20-30 min. every Tuesday till end of term ^^") and on Thursday I have the big fundamental knowledge exam on 'contemporary history' (everything starting World War I + II in Europe/Asia/America/Russia to Cold War). It's the ''detested'' exam on campus xD But I have to take it eventually^^
