Well, the Western territories are very desolate, the islands even more so. Not many live there.

He wonders if maybe he can find somewhere there. It'd certainly be out of the way, convenient for him (he won't have to deal with certain people he can think of) and anyway, he prefers solitation.
It'd be worth a shot

Balthur grunts, not speaking any more.
The sun is setting. Now might be a good time to get some sleep to be well rested in the morning.
Well, if you're keeping your promise to Crimson then it doesn't really matter which way you go. If you pick north then you'll just be doubling back once you've found the creature's families to head south again for the rest of the creatures, before circling back again to get to Elvenor, and vice versa.
The only thing to keep in mind is that the Southern territories are home to the Orcs and Goblins, who are incredibly rarely good, will most likely harm you and Crimson, and at this stage the other creatures you're finding their families for will probably not trust you enough to go near the Orcs and Goblins.
The Northern territories have paths that will be available to use at this time of year, and have fewer risks for your group. While you're still learning the tips and tricks of traversing the continent safely, the mountains will be a much better option for you to continue developing your skills.
Do you still wish to go south?
I chose to go north instead.
(Thank you)

Nicote heads into his tent. Probably shouldve gotten a pillow back in town, oh well tol late now.
It's as heavy as it looks, but still liftable. It takes a couple of rest stops, for you at least, but you make it to the Barrack Aeries and back in one piece.
The vendor just hands you the packs and waves you away, already turning to another customer. Skywhisper's feathers fluff up in outrage, but you've got his food for the journey and completed the favour, so there's not much worth doing about the vendor's rudeness.
.
I give him a scratch to calm him down and look for a less rude vendor that's selling camping supplies.

(No worries - I wouldn't want you to regret your decision later ^.^)
You and Crimson keep walking through the day, taking breaks every now and then. The Pegasus foal doesn't come back, but perhaps finding the spooked creatures is a hard task.
Night falls, and Crimson is looking exhausted and hungry. So are you.

I quickly set up campt and get a fire going. I look around for some food for Crimson because I won't eat without her eating too.

Your stomach rumbles. It's been a long day, mostly full of Balthur's stories. Helping that Wyvern makes you feel good about yourself though.

There are plenty of survival and adventuring stalls. You come up to one with a Dwarf behind the stall.
"Allo there ma'am. Fine day it is for a walk with your Griffin," he says merrily. "You looking for some equipment?"
