Haha, mistakes are fine. Long as you pick yourself up after that.
*blinks* How did I get here again...

This one is supposed to be a floating island kinda like the ones in Avatar, with a waterfall and a dragon flying around. I actually did this one on the bus so it's a but messy, but it's one of my first 'landscape' type drawings that actually turned out well.

This is just the unfinished base art for a baby dragon. It's supposed to have a butterfly sitting on it's nose at some point.

This one was roughly based off of Toothless. Sorry, it's in my math notebook again, as are most of these. I didn't mean for it to be sideways.

This one turned out sideways too... It was meant to be a finished sketch, but it turned into a bit of concept art for another drawing I did later on.

Here's just a dragon eye. And he's... crying, for some reason. I was obsessed with drawing realistic water droplets for about a month a little while back, so that's probably why he's sad.

Here's a tiny little dragon with scales that are actually filled in. I didn't intend for him to turn out looking like a Komodo Dragon, he just did.

This is actually one that I finished today, based on the one that I did but didn't complete. There's a bit of a wing sketch in the corner too, since I was trying to figure out different ways I could bend it and still have it look natural.

Aaah these all look so good! No worries about the math notebook and all, I sketch in whatever's handy too^^

I ditched lined paper about 6 months ago though, once I read the book The Two Pencil Method by Mark Crilley. One paragraph in the book guilted me into quitting^^
Though I don't regret it.

But I drew on lined paper for years! My whole life, in fact, so I can totally see though 'em. I was reluctant to quit, actually, because I used the lines as perspective and proportional guides. My art actually got worse once I quit for awhile before I saw some improvement.

Anyway, random stuff you now know. Your dragons look amazing by the way.
And your handwriting is nice. I know I wasn't supposed to be looking at it, but I couldn't help but notice^^

I'll have to see if I can find that book anywhere, the title alone intrigues me.

I don't like drawing in sketchbooks, but I really wished I did like it. I just feel like I'm going to mess up and then ruin the whole sketchbook with one bad drawing, so I use stuff like my math notebook instead. The floating island one wasn't on lined paper... but it was on the back of my biology HW packet. Oops. I hope my teacher will give them back to us once we've turned them in.

And thank you! I know way better artists than me (like you) who make my work seem really bad, but it's still nice to hear someone likes it. I also try to write neatly, but it doesn't always come across that way. What you saw there is probably some of the better looking stuff.
