"We follow the tracks. it's an open desert. Even with the head start they can't have got far" she gave a lpud whistle and the other two guards gallops off, spreading dust. It made both of you cough as it sprayed the area around you, "At least it's not purely sand. Come on, canter won't kill you" you felt the horse go faster and it was comfortable, but you were sliding up and down the saddle. it seemed like you could tip off if you did a sharp turn, so it was best you held tightly on.
The road was currently quiet, barely anyone came back this way. You knew you needed to head into town and then head slightly West then north to get to Vestos from Swani. There was a large lake on the way that you could stop buy for rest and several villages dotted around the waters there.
"Okay....city yay" she said sarcastically.if i can rest periodically and maybe get some stuff from the villages.I ate a bit of one of the herbs and sucked on it,trying to preserve the flavor.leaves...good nutrition right? i asked myself

Recovering from the bout of coughing, Heph quickly gripped the horse as tightly as she could with her legs, making sure that her hands stayed firmly on the pommel. She was inwardly pleased when she stopped moving as much.
She thought of asking the woman more questions, but their pace had increased and she was not sure if the woman could hear her. She tried to remember what she could about her magic so far and how she could use it. If she could somehow stretch her senses to see if she could sense the illegal traders, Heph was sure that could be of help.
Her thoughts briefly wandered back to Ilya and to Kuro. Heph hoped that Ilya would not mind the delay in finding Kuro and in bringing him back to the tribe's headquarters.

You walk to the city and it was busy. The guards let you in again. You had enough herbs to last you half a day, but they wouldn't properly satisfy your hunger if you ate them for more than a day. The herbs tasted quite bitter, but gave you more strength to continue walking.

You weren't sure how to stretch to find the illegal traders, but maybe trying to use your magic here to write something would be useful so you could practise. The guard wasn't talking and in the distance, you heard a loud whistle, "Got 'em" she muttered

Heph jerked her head up. "Do we have them?" she asked the guard.
While waiting for an answer, Heph used her raised right index finger to trace the word "pen" in the air. She wasn't sure if that could work, but she figured that it did not hurt to try.

A small pen appeared, although only half of it existed. You weren't sure what happened to the top half. "nah. The guards up front have spotted them. They weren't going fast for a cart, but they'll try hiding in the canyons. Full of dead ends and turns."

"I see," responded Heph, fiddling with the half of the pen that existed and tucking it away, uncertain if it would disappear on its own after a while. "What is our plan then?"
This time, while her left hand remained firmly on the pommel, Heph lifted her right hand slightly to be able to write "pen" without any hindrance, tracing the word on top of her left hand.

You received the other half of the pen, you gain a magic level. The guard replied abruptly, "Trap them and take them hostage. They're bound to take a wrong turn in the canyons."
The closest city was a half hour walk away if you wanted to get to it.
Crystal stood up and made her way to the city. She pushed back her hair calming down her nerves. If she wanted to make her tribe the best, she told herself, she had to stop being nervous and believe in herself. Immediately her treacherous brain went, if only it was that easy.
