Great start hon, but your design is too big. It will need to be brought down to a 250 scale. In the requirements there is a code of &size=250. Put that at the end of your design address and it should shrink it down for you to the right size. Once that is done hon, I will review it and tell you were to go from there. This will need to be corrected before deadline. Until then keep up the good work!

Remember if you need to OPT out for this challenge to please notify the challenge host directly not anyone else. In this case it would be me. Reason being we all can get a little side tracked from time to time, and I would hate for you to be considered a no show when you did speak up. :-)

I'm afraid that I'll have to opt out of this challenge, this week is pretty busy for me.

Here's my entry, inspired by one of my favorite desserts, cafe liegeois! It's something that I enjoyed while living in Europe, and shares a name with one of my absolute favorite European cities.

My design, unlike many other designs here, does not represent the dessert itself, rather the unique history behind it. While named after a Belgian city, cafe liegeois is not actually from Belgium. It was originally from Vienna, and was called cafe viennois. During the Battle of Liege in WWI, however, cafes in Paris renamed the coffee to honor the resistance of Liege. Read more here!

So, here you have it! A Belgian soldier enjoying a cup of cafe liegeois.

You have a great start. Unfortunately hon it does have to be on a baked good/treat not the history of the treat, or location of origin. We may use that idea for a future challenge though, as that is a good idea. However not what this challenge is about.

Also, unfortunately no pet designs for this challenge. If anything you can post it outside of your design post if you want just not within.

Everything with in the design post has to fall with in the design challenge requirements for it to be acceptable and or eligible for this challenge. That is why I have post or your challenge host will post an example of what is acceptable. In the future if you have questions on if it is ok or not please just ask. I hope that helps explain a little better.

Please make those changes before this Friday's deadline and you should be good to go. :-)

Gingerbread!
Who doesn't like these lightly spiced biscuits? The first thing I thought of was obviously Gingerbread 'cause how can you forget when your brother decides to secretly eat all the icing? Yes, this happened before. The house was still delicious though. :p

Gingerbread Recipe
What you will need
Melted butter (Enough to grease baking tray/s)
125g butter, at room temperature
100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
125ml (1/2 cup) golden syrup
1 egg, separated
375g (2 1/2 cups) plain flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon mixed spice
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Plain flour (To dust)
150g (1 cup) pure icing sugar, sifted
Cookie cutter/s

Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C. Brush 2 baking trays with melted butter to lightly grease.
Step 2
Use an electric beater to beat the butter and sugar in a bowl until pale and creamy. Add the golden syrup and egg yolk and beat until combined. Stir in the flour, ginger, mixed spice and bicarbonate of soda. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Press dough into a disc. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.
Step 3
Meanwhile, place egg white in a clean, dry bowl. Use an electric beater to beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add icing sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Divide icing among 3 bowls. Cover 1 bowl with plastic wrap and place in the fridge. Add red colouring to 1 bowl and stir until combined. Add green colouring to remaining bowl and stir until combined. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge.
Step 4
Place the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper and roll out until about 4mm thick. Use your chosen cookie cutter/s to cut out shapes. Repeat with any excess dough.
Step 5
Bake in oven for 10 minutes or until brown. Remove from oven. Transfer to a rack to cool.
Step 6
Place prepared icings in small plastic bags. Decorate your biscuits!
Step 7
Enjoy!

Brownies
I chose brownies because they are one of my favorite desserts to bake and eat. They go great with milk and if you add chocolate chips or caramel to them, they taste even more amazing if possible. My whole family loves them, so its a treat we can all enjoy together.

Recipe:

Ingredients:
cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
cup unsweetened cocoa powder
cup all-purpose flour
teaspoon salt
teaspoon baking powder

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.

Step 2
In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.

Step 3
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.

Step 4
You can check with a toothpick to see if the insides are done. If so, then you have successfully made brownies.
